I'm not from Texas, but watching this video about Dominionism scared me enough to come here and make sure you are aware of it, and to see what you think. I hadn't realized that DeLay is thoroughly convinced he's doing God's work

Forgive me if it's impertinent for a Californian to post this here, but it seems like pretty serious business indeed.

How does someone like Ron Paul associate with this?

1. I've Watched As Well And Shared With Everyone On My Email Tree
These folks are truly frightening. They are the enemy to our secular democracy. They must be stopped!

2. about Texas, never forget

that there was an immigration wave after the Civil War from the eastern Deep South, made up of lots of people who found even the minor amount of federal control and black power there was during Reconstruction unbearable.

These people began the anti-government politics and gun right absolutism that reactionaries all over the country picked up within a generation or two. They had the Southern Baptist church as cover...otherwise, people would have called all they embraced barbarianism outright.

Phil Sheridan said his one great military regret was that the Transmississippi Department of the Confederacy had surrendered before he could give Texas a real cavalry raid- making the civilians pay a price for the war they instigated and forced on other states- and give Texan troops a comprehensive whipping. Andrew Johnston removed Sheridan from command over Texas and Louisiana when he decided to deal forcefully with the insolence and arrogance Texans threw at him in the months after war's end. Some people think Texas would be a rather more civilized place had Sheridan gotten his way....

3. The Texan Confederates also never had to pay
For hanging Texas Unionists who did not constitute a real menace. Shrub must think he can get the same kind of free pass for atrocities without fear of world condemnation.

5. Very true and also
after the Civil Rights Voting Act a lot of these people were livid that black people were going to be able to vote. To a lot of the people here when you say Democrat the first thing they think is Black and Gay which they hate. They would rather let themselves get screwed over by bushco instead of voting for Democrats.

4. Since I grew up with 'Church and State 'on the coffee table and
in a really GOP home, when all this stuff started I just laughed as I knew it would never happen. Maybe not in my father's GOP but this one now in power is sure different. Even more of a scary thing is that so many of those Southern GOP were at one time in the Dem. party. They have done just what they said they would do, and it is not if you are a Christian but the type you are. Sounds so much like the Middle East and their nut cases.
