Dori Monson: The Zell Miller of Seattle Talk Radio
Edited on Wed Apr-28-04 03:29 PM by RobertSeattle
I've been streaming AA for a while now, but decised to poke into Monson's afternoon AM710 radio show this afternoon. Gee what a surprise - Kerry bashing based on that "Village Voice" article posted via Drudge. Radio: Off.

If I hear him excuse himself based on "But I was against the Clinton impeachment" canard I'll puke.

1. Oh, yes.
The true Dori was revealed the day he said that anyone sitting in traffic at 5 pm was a loser because they should be working extra to get ahead in life.

Brian Maloney is worse, though.

4. Lou Pate sucks real bad too
Edited on Wed Apr-28-04 03:56 PM by RobertSeattle
I sent him an instant message and referred to him as (KVI's) Kirby Wilbur's "warm up man" - I don't think he liked that much.

The shocking thing is that "Real Republican" "The professor" Fred Ebert (evenings) is actually quite good - he hates Bush/Cheney and does some great anti-Bush rants.

8. Lou Pate surprises one sometimes though
Edited on Wed Apr-28-04 11:09 PM by Yo_Mama_Been_Loggin
He's a Republican but supports abortion and gay rights and at least has a sense of humor. Dori Monson takes himself too seriously.

10. Fred Ebert is very good but
I don't think he quite gets that the problem is the GOP/conservative/Reagan/anti-govt mindset, not just George Bush.

He REALLY lays into Bush sometimes, though, talking about him being a monkey and eating bananas, etc.

14. Fred Ebert is an old-style moderate.
Kind of like a Dan Evans sort of Republican. Not many of them around. I hope if Lou Pate DOES leave, that Ebert takes over the overnight. He would be great. I just do not want that Republican weekender puke Brian Baloney... I mean Maloney take Pate's place.

2. Off topic but related---
I was walking around DuPont Circle yesterday in DC (post march shopping).

Walked into one little store and the shopkeeper glowered at me when I walked in. Very uncommunicative. I wasn't even wearing any of my liberal finery!

She was listening to some right wing hack on the radio who was insulting Kerry (the whole medal throwing thing...)and said to some caller "Well, I'm shocked that you still call yourself a Democrat." Her name was Laura something.

Anyone know who this twat is?

Sanctimonious.

15. Here is who belongs on KKKVI
Peter Wiseback and Brian Maloney. They are so far to the right it is sickening that KIRO would have them on their lineup. I can stomach Lou Pate though he is far too "New York" to be in Seattle.

6. oh my goodness yes, this guy is a soulless jerk
Outside of Dave Ross there is no reason to listen to KIRO during the day anymore, and especially since they lost the M's. Whenever i forget to turn the channel after DR I am just amazed what a gutless selfish loser this guy is. He has absolutely no merit what so ever. Do you know that during the Clinton fiasco he hired some sleazy valley girl to read the Monica parts (in a cliche porno voice no less) of her deposition, it was obscene really. There was no reason for that except for ratings and to humiliate and render ineffective the president. Gee, ever wonder if 911 would have happened had the Reich wing media would have let the pres do his job? He will never admit his part in the vast right wing conspiracy, although he certainly had a prominent role. He truly put his party above the good of the country, but he would never do a show on that.

He probably gets the reThug media memo daily. For some reason he thinks he has some legitimacy because he is on a news station, instead of an all out hate radio station. What can you say about a joke of a person who takes his family to Los Vegas because its good family fun. Sorry for the rant, but this guy is a joke.

9. Dori used to be a moderate.
In fact he was the first talk show host I ever called and talked to when he was on the now defunct KING AM.

Since he's drank the Bush Kool-Aid he's turned into a total asshole. He's actually had Ann (the man) Coulter on his show several times and takes her seriously.

11. Dori is such a little lieing whore
What bugs me is his claims of being moderate while he works straight from the RNC script.
On any national issue if you check what the RNC spin is you can perfectly predict what Dori is going to say.
He also uses the full set of tricks the wing nut love. Cutting caller volume or feed, interrupting or changing the subject, trashing the caller after they are off air, etc.
Thank goodness for Mike Webb and Erin Hart, the only liberal voices in Seattle.
If talk radio really did conform to the demographics of the community it served Mike and Erin would be main stream and Dori would be a lonely voice from 1 am to 4 on a minor station.

Though I have been registered at DU for quite a while as you see I don't post much. I most often hangout at the Bartcop Forum.

13. I keep hoping he'll move to KVI or that other wingnut station
where he'll feel more at home, and I'll never accidentally hear his smug little voice again.

I stopped listening to KIRO all together after he was going off on the Mardi Gras riot. Fucking racist piece of shit.

out of his rectum. I don't listen to his show much.

The only two KIRO shows worth listening to are Mike Webb or Erin Hart.

19. Dori's going on a sabbatical!
I heard him say yesterday he was taking some time off to "spend more time with his family." I think he's taking the summer off, but I didn't catch the part about exactly how much time he's taking off.

When the going gets rough, THAT'S when rightwingers spend time with their families. Jerks.

20. Dave Ross is great though..
Dori's been changing. But he really changed when Kerry was the nominee. He's really big on the war now. That's all he talks about and sound transit or the mono-rail. It gets to be real boring.

Ross is very good in the morning though. Next week, he'll announce if he's decided to run for House in the 8th. Personally, I'll really miss his moderate voice of reason for KIRO if he decides to run, but we could use him the House. I think there's a good chance we could make that set Democratic if Ross runs.

21. Huh?
Was there ever a time that he wasn't big on the war? I reached the point that I WOULD NOT listen to the little SOB anymore when he was doing his part to push for the invasion of Iraq, mocking McDermott (who was RIGHT) and anyone else who opposed the war.

And Dave Ross IS great. I don't always agree with him, but he is always a reasonable guy.

22. Dori is also fixated on Ron Sims.
And I think he did go off the deep end just this year. I wonder what happened.

Regarding Dave Ross, we just need to clone him so he can do both radio and politics. That's the only solution. :-)

23. "Gore is insane"
Edited on Wed Jun-02-04 01:00 PM by SnohoDem
A friend told me that was whorey Dori's line last week. I don't pay much attention to him or wingnut radio, but this morning on O'Franken I hear that "Gore is insane" was the RW talking point after the speech.

Jeez. But no doubt whorey Dori would give you his own "well reasoned analysis" of why Gore is insane.

edit: added "RW"

25. Agreed...couldn't believe it...he did a story about that before...
I was tempted to call and say I could care less what Kerry did then. Let's talk about what is going on now, but decided it wasn't worth the time and went outside to enjoy the sunshine instead.
