My best friend hates Gregoire: what do I say? |
|
I was for Talmadge, then Sims, and my friend voted for Sims, but he despises Gregoire.
What do I say to convince him he shouldn't vote for Rossi? He's an attorney, if that makes any difference. (I suspect it does.)

1. Rossi, as a Republican, will support tort reform for sure, and will be |
|
more likely to limit your friend's income. That should do it. Gregoire is a former lawyer and will be a friend to the profession.

4. gregoire is an asshole |
|
but Rossi worked for a criminal and when the criminal got out of prison, Rossi went back to work for him. Most of the money paying for rossi's campaign is coming from out of state.
My friend who tells me this is a paralegal who is more knowledgeable than most attorneys. she is an active dem in the 11th district, a former chair and would have probably run Talmadge's campaign if he'd not gotten ill.

He plays this down, but he was one of the leaders of NO on 120 in 1991.

7. I was for Talmadge first, then for Sims also |

But I'll vote for Chris, because Dino is a shill for the GOP machine. He'll have no voice of his own, because he cannot formulate an argument without clearing it through GOP channels first--In short, he's not too bright, and our state deserves better than that...
Chris, on the other hand, will be able to articulate a vision of a Washington that makes some sense, and that she developed on her own.
Go Dems, and buh'bye to the GOP.

9. Dino Rossi...a neocon wolf in compassionate conservative's clothing |
|
The GOP knew that they needed somebody that was going to come across as a wingnut like Ellen Craswell or John Carlson. That is why the Bushites handpicked Rossi to run as governor. Rossi is using the same playbook that helped Bush in 2000. Don't be fooled by his compassionate conservative act. He is very Neocon!

8. I am very reluctant to support Gregoire. |
|
She is yet another "play it safe in the center", Gary Locke style Democrat. I was sad when Phil Talmadge became ill. What makes me angry is that I may have to cast my vote for Gregoire just to keep Rossi from entering the governors' mansion. Bushco hand-picked Dino Rossi and that to me is very scary. If Gregoire wins, I fear she will be a one-term wonder which means the Repubs could get the governor's office in '08.

11. Gregoire has been battling FERC over the Enron bilking. |
|
Chris Gregoire apparently stands for the concept of equitable relief. Rossi seems bent only on pro-business and pro-Right governance.
