KIRO should get rid of Lou Pate.
Is it me or is Lou Pate just getting more annoying?

I sometimes find myself listening to Lou Pate when I am up at night. I could tolerate some of his criticisms of Seattle and Democrats but it seems like in the last few weeks he has been more obnoxious with his criticisms. He has this belief that people in Seattle are not living in the "real world". He paints Seattle as left-wing and people here are too partisan and not "open-minded" to the Republicans as he puts it. Lou says Democrats in Seattle who are against Bush are ignorant and also not open-minded. He also loves slamming Jim McDermott too a lot.

Gawd! If KIRO can get rid of Brian Maloney, surely they can sack this jerk. Send him back to New York or San Diego!

Thank God, Ray Taliaferro on KGO in San Francisco comes on streaming audio at night!

1. He's awful
I even preferred Brian Maloney to Pate. The guy is just a prick. I e-mailed management a few days ago when this elderly woman opened his show and talked about the vice presidents... The guy was yelling at her, calling her names, and she just took it as she dind't have a mean bone in her body. It broke my heart to hear that prick tear into an elderly woman like that, but it unfortunately is typical Pate.

2. Talk Radio after 1 am just sucks in Seattle
I fall asleep to Mike Webb then I usually hear something stupid coming out of Lou Pate around 2:00 when I shut the radio off. The only other option is Coast to Coast which has little appeal for me.

I think it's time for Lou to move on....Jeeze even Dori Monson is better than that Bozo

3. You mean Lou Hate?
I refer to him as the Kirby Wilbur" (KVI) warm up show.

4. He sent me an email with an outright lie in it.
I often fall asleep listening to Mike Webb, too, and wake up to hear Lou (I also call him Lou Hate) saying something so mean it makes my stomach turn. This particular night, he was ranting about Marlon Brando (wasn't a good actor, died alone, blah blah blah) and he mentioned something about Ty Cobb dying old and broke. I sent him an email explaining that that wasn't so and he emailed me back to CLEAN OUT MY EARS! I know what I heard!

A couple of nights ago, at the very beginning of his show, a liberal was trying in vain to make a point and Lou was babbling about liberals calling conservatives names. The caller said, "well you call names!" and Lou is like, "what?" The caller said, well, you called me a liberal jackass! Lou's Coulteresque response was, "that's not a name. That's a description."

I agree, he must go, though I am not sure what the 1:00 to 5:00 audience is.

5. There was a real right wing nutjob filling in for Dory Moron the other day
He called the Abu Ghraib torture "a little running around in their birthday suits." 'Nuff said.

I turned of Kiro and haven't turned it back on since.

7. Oh, there's a couple more...
I like Charles Jaco - who's been filling in for Dave Ross - and Carl Jeffers. Both are left-leaning. There's also NY Vinnie, and when he does political shows he's unabashedly Democratic.

8. Has anyone listened to Alan Prell?
He's filling in Dave Ross's time slot now. He came off a little strange at first but I got to like hime after listening a while. He's got a rather self deprecating sense of humor.

9. Is THAT who that is?
He is odd, but you start getting used to him.
