2. My Jim McDermot story--At the 2000 Dem Party at the Westin in Seattle

(I think it was the Westin) I was watching the big television screen as they showed the results for Washington State. McDermot won (obviously) and I made some snide comment to the woman next to me like, "Gee, I'll bet he's upset that he didn't get his usual 90% of the vote)," and she replied, "He's my husband."

I covered by saying something about how nice it was for her!
