KING 5 Poll: Kerry up by 6, Wash. governor's race tied

SEATTLE - Democrat John Kerry would defeat Pres. George Bush if the election were held today, according to the latest poll commissioned for KING 5 News.

The poll of 618 likely voters showed that Kerry holds a 6-point lead, down from 7 points a week ago.

Kerry is also strongest among women, 55 percent of whom said they will vote for him. It was a tie with the men polled, with 48 percent saying they would vote for Bush and 48 percent opting for Kerry.


The race for Washington governor is virtually tied up, with Democrat Christine Gregoire leading Republican Dino Rossi by 2 points. That's down from 10 points three weeks ago and 6 points last week.

1. Bad news on Gov's race

he will be awful. The graph showed a steady climb and Rossi is getting a lot of help from the RNC.

But what has happened to Gregoire's campaign? She is not saying anything on her ads, just the family bio stuff, and she is being swamped by the sheer volume of ads from Rossi.

I don't see how Junior CAN win a fair election. Rossi's a different story. People are buying into his pro-business crap because it means jobs, or so they have been led to believe. And the negative shit they're putting out about Christine... why isn't she fighting back? There has to be some dirt on Rossi, right?
