1. Yeah, my heart aches for him |
|
I loved it when, after going to Texas, he wrote that letter encouraging Boeing to relocate their corporate HQ in Dallas. Fuckwit.

3. At least he cares about the game. |
|
So many overpaid athletes take their check and go through the motions. It's nice to see a player who cares about the outcome of the game.

Prima donna twerp. Boo effing hoo.
I can't blame A-rod for leaving for that 252MM contract to a losing team. But he should have had the cojones to say, "Hey, this is a once in a lifetime deal, and I'd be a fool not to accept it". But he's in denial that money cannot buy him the opportunity to play for a winning team.
So, two teams later, he can't seem to find a winning team to hang his hat on. Well A-Rod, one lesson learned: Money can't buy everything!!!

5. He was such a jerk in the playoffs, too, |
|
sliding in cleats up, slapping that pitcher's glove hand to knock the ball out during that play at first base.
I loved that article in the Seattle Times about a month ago that compared Alex Rodriguez and Edgar Martinez and concluded that Alex may be richer, and he may end up with a world series championship under his belt (eventually), but he'll never be loved the way that Edgar is. He'll never have a real home.

6. I didn't see that article |
|
But I totally agree with the sentiment. A-Rod will be known for his "slap" for a long time. How tacky. And what's with the cleats? Trying to be Ted Williams?
I have met Edgar Martinez. Alex Rodriguez, you are no Edgar Martinez.
(Well, I WISH I had met Edgar!! sound good though, doesn't it...kinda like Arod = Quayle)

7. I saw him at the mall once. |
|
Edgar I mean. He was carrying all of the shopping bags, and he still held the door open for his wife and son.
AND he waved at us when he saw us looking at him.
