Education Initiative Doing Well. Gambling Initiative in trouble
Edited on Thu Oct-28-04 11:01 PM by Yo_Mama_Been_Loggin
SEATTLE - KOMO 4 News has teamed up with KOMO 1000 News and our newspaper partner, the Seattle P-I to bring you the latest poll information as the election creeps closer.

-snip-

Initiative 884 would increase the sales tax by 1% state wide (to 9.8% in Seattle and King County).

The big question is will voters agree to pay what would become the highest sales tax anywhere in return for the promise of improved schools and better access to higher education: The results say yes. 49% would vote yes, 43% no, with 8% still undecided.

-snip-

Another initiative would lower property taxes, through gambling. This measure, the poll says, is in trouble.

If the vote were held Thursday, only 29 percent of voters would support I-892. The vast majority, 64 percent, oppose it.
