Does anyone know any celebrity activist progressives who live in WA? |
|
-I know Ron Reagan Jr. lives in Seattle. Don't know if he's a Dem...
-I know Gary Larson lives in Seattle, but don't know his politics, or if he's political. Plus he's a hermit near as I can tell.
For that matter, does anyone have more info (I'm not asking for personal info like addresses) on Ron or Gary? Like if they're open to public speaking, accessible, nice to work with, etc?
Any info would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

1. I think Dave Matthews' girlfriend lives in Seattle |
|
and he lives there a lot of the time. My friend made a smoothie for him at the Fremont PCC. There's always Courtney Love (though I don't really know how Progressive she is, exactly.) -- you can find her at the King County Courthouse several times a month.

3. Dave Matthews lives in Wallingford |
|
full-time except when he's not touring.
My ex-boss's sister was his next-door neighbor. His house is quite tiny --- well, I should say it's an average size house for Seattle. Not some huge monstrosity. Very unassuming.

6. He sees my chiropractor |

And I've sat next to him in the waiting room on many an occasion. Totally normal, down-to-earth guy who reads lots of very interesting books.:D

7. Don't forget the Professor from Gilligan's Island-- |
|
he lives on Bainbridge Island. A friend of mine saw him at a restaurant and he pulled out an autographed picture of himself and gave it to her, even though she didn't ask for one. Not sure he's a progressive...
(I think the mailman from Cheers lives on Bainbridge as well)

8. Well this is getting dang interesting |
|
I didn't know about either of those. So the Professor finally escaped from Gilligan's Island and opted to live on Bainbridge Island. Guess he couldn't adapt to non-island life. :)
Thanks paxmusa.

10. Check out this candidate... |
|
http://www.vote4mak.org/He doesn't really qualify as a celebrity, but he seems to have achieved some notoriety in Seattle. I think he's one of the best candidates on the ballot - in any race.

Doesn't he write a piece now and again for theStranger.com and mostly anti-war?
just my 2 cents,

12. Don't forget Jim McDermott... |
|
he visited Iraq before the war and came back and came as close to calling Bush a liar as a Congressman can without doing a Cheney.
It will drive the rightwing nutcases bonkers - trust me. During the 2002 and 2003 protest here in Seattle (and especially the week of the March 19th protest at the Fed Building here in Seattle) when he spoke at a week long coalition protest there, he was heckled and ridiculed until they were forced to remove themselves by LE.
He is still called Baghdad Jim and one od Saddam's minions,
