Among the reasons I'm happy to be out of Cincinnati...
Edited on Tue Aug-16-05 12:04 PM by Jeff In Milwaukee
This letter is from the Cincinnati Enquirer. It's regarding the capture of the Tennessee convict and his girlfriend/accomplice. You'll recall that the fugitive hailed a cab in Erlanger, KY (a Cincinnati suburb) and was driven all the way to Columbus. The cabbie -- not knowing their identity -- reported the pair to the police who arrested them at a Columbus motel.

The letter:

In regard to Mike Wagers, the cabdriver who wasn't aware of who he was transporting ("Cabbie didn't see back-seat danger," Aug. 12), I think this was a good thing. I prayed with my husband that the Lord would reveal the whereabouts of George and Jennifer Hyatte to the proper authorities, but most of all I prayed that they would do no harm to anyone else and that they would give up peacefully. I think I also heard another comment made on TV coverage of someone else praying that they'd give up peacefully and that there be no more harm done. I think it worked out perfect and God's hands were all over this!

God's hands were all over this?! What about the corrections officer in Tennessee WHO WAS FUCKING SHOT AND KILLED DURING THE ESCAPE?! God picked a pretty late hour to suddenly get involved in this one -- If he'd been on the ball a couple of days earlier, the guy never would have escaped and a cop would be at home with his family. Jesus Christ on a Cracker, these fundie morans scare the living crap out of me sometimes.

"Did you see that? My husband and I prayed and the bad man was arrested. Our prayers have the power to alter time and space."

Great. Now will you please pray for me to win the friggin' lottery?

Edit: I have to either cut down on the caffeine or stop reading the Enquirer online!

3. My wife and I want to move too...
sadly, she wants to go to California, and I want to go South (maybe Louisiana). In any event, leaving Cincy is a high priority.

6. Yeah but, at least you had 1530 for AAR radio
The moon and stars have to be aligned just right for me to pick that up now here.

My sister and brother in law live near there, in Wilmington. Really red, it sounds.

8. Yes, I do miss my AAR
I'm currently sharing an office (until our new space is complete in December). And because I'm a courteous officemate, I don't stream AAR through my computer and force my co-worker to listen.

She's not so lucky when it comes to my streaming Professor Longhair through Rhapsody -- on the plus side, I think she's growing an affection for piano stomp blues.
