We stayed until the end. Hightower was awesome. He was talking about Bush and his "ranch" and said something about it being a shame to have a $1000 hat on a 10 cent head. His whole speech was funny as hell. Tammy Baldwin got people on their feet at least three times. They had that Gonzalez guy from California who ran as a green. And they had the second in command for united for peace make a quick speech urging people to go to DC for the protests.
I really liked seeing Feingold and Conyers, but all the speeches were good. Gwen Moore really, really kicks ass. She was hillarious. I wish I'd have known more about her before today. I also wish I'd have run into some DUers, but we decided to go kind of at the last minute. Maybe another time. :patriot:

2. Hey, ewag - I looked for you later in the day. |
|
I really wanted to have a few minutes to visit but I didn't see you after we broke for lunch.
So what did you think? Pretty good, huh? Was the good (former) mayor impressed?
Goldeneye was right, Hightower was great! Sorry you had to miss it.
We stuck around to the end and got Hightower's and Nichol's sigs on their latest books. A great end to a great day. Boy was I glad to get into an air conditioned car, though. Hoo, boy.

3. I'm sooo jealous of youse guys! I did, however, attend a picnic for... |

...Jim Sullivan, the able young candidate who's going to trounce Tom Reynolds for State Senate. And I had a good chat with eyesroll there.
Okay, so when's the next pan-Wisconsin DU meet-up??

but loved the program!! It was great to see so many people there. Loved Conyers and Matt Gonzales.
Does anyone know where Molloy is speaking tomorrow? Can anyone go?

My "good neighbor" (as opposed to the other, koo-aid drinking one) figured out that the large tent outside the grandstand had speakers in it so we could hear the speeches while sitting in shade and enjoying what little breeze there was.....We could also get up and get water or Root Beer (until they ran out) whenever we needed. It was sort of neat...and probably about 30-40 other people figured out the same thing...
