1. Weather Forecast
Sunny and high in the upper 70's. BRING SUNSCREEN!!! Don't want any "rednecks" - or red arms, legs, faces, bald heads, etc. around!

Shirley Ries and Pearla Moler will meet for the first time today when they board a bus in Johnson Creek for Washington, D.C., where they will raise their voices against the war in Iraq.

Theirs is not a radical minority viewpoint in America. A lot of us feel deceived by the way we got into this mess.

We don't believe success in Iraq is likely, and we're not even sure how it's defined. We think the U.S. is creating more terrorists than it stamps out, and we see no end in sight as the death toll mounts - ours and the Iraqi people's.

"I have been opposed to the war from the very beginning. I don't think it was a war of last resort," said Shirley, 60, who lives in Fond du Lac and runs a tax prep business with her husband. She serves on the Fond du Lac County Board.

10. I had an awesome weekend
and met loads of people on the PeaceAction Wisconsin bus. I took loads of pix with my cameraphone but it will take me a few days to get them up.

I do believe that we shall overcome someday soon. :patriot:

12. Oooh you're good!
I was on a bus that only stopped in Madison as far as I know and then went to Chicago from there because it was full. PeaceAction Wisconsin, there were 700 people on 13 buses from what I heard. Absolutely terrific people.

I didn't bring a camera, just my work cellphone which takes pictures and this was the first time I've used it for that. I have lots of pix of signs but I will use photoshop at work to make them more readable.

Got back to Madison at 1:30pm and I am so exhausted but also so very glad I went. I told about 10 people on my bus about DU, none of them had heard of it so I hope they all sign up now!

Day off tomorrow to sleep!

13. There were three busses from Milwaukee for the short trip
Edited on Sun Sep-25-05 08:58 PM by shoelace414
I heard two of them broke down, (I was on one of them), anyway, the three busses on the way back were going to stick together, but our driver pulled out and passed in Penn, when we stopped in Ohio he said we were 40 miles ahead, Indiana 80 miles ahead, Illinois (Lake Forest Oasis) 120 miles ahead, I was wondering if the other two busses got back 2 hours after us. heh.
