Whats your Favorite Wisconsin Beer?
Edited on Wed Jul-21-04 04:10 PM by Homer12

I'd have to say Capital Breweries "Wisconsin Amber" or Tyranena "Stone Tepee Pale Ale".

1. New Glarus..
New Glarus Spotted Cow. Now, I know I'm from Eau Claire and we have Leinie's just up the block from us, but really... Spotted Cow is Wisconsin's beer :)

6. I'm with you on Spotted Cow. It's my favorite so far.
Reminds me of the beer my grandfather always drank when I was little and he let me have a taste. Though once in a while I get a six-pack that isn't as good as the others. I guess that comes with the microbrew territory.

But I also have a soft spot for Leinie's and Sprecher's dark beers. And call me a freak but Berry Weiss is pretty good in my book too.

They also have a really good IPA.

Rhinelander is the worst beer ever created.

I know they don't have as large a presence as in the past, but when I was growing up, the Milwaukee breweries were still going strong and we drank whatever beer was affordable and/or were made by the brewery(ies) someone in the family worked in. No hoity-toity beers served in our family : -) Old habits die hard.

21. I can't have any Point beer product.
Edited on Wed Jul-28-04 12:08 AM by JonathanChance
After a few hours in my system, it turns my ass into a delivery system for weapons of mass destruction. If I'm caught holding a bottle of that stuff, the UN hauls my stinky ass over to The Hague where I'll have to share a cell with Slobodan Milosevic.

I've literally cleared entire rooms after drinking that stuff.

22. I miss Huber and their slogan:
"The Beer that Is Beer." How much cornier does it get?

Also, I loved their anachronistic large bottle with the "Family Size" on the label. I have one around here somewhere for posterity....

23. I had an uncle who was a brewmaster at Huber in Monroe
until he died rather young in the 80's. Don't ever remember a time when he didn't work for Huber. Everyone called him Hop. After he died, the beer was never the same.

Funny thing though, as a kid I never knew his nickname had anything to do with beer. I always thought of Hop Sing on Bonanza and wondered how my uncle got the same name.
