http://www.wisinfo.com/journal/spjopinion/306243987948404.shtmlLibrary display features life issues
The public library is a source of information of every kind, all levels of interest, and a resource for research of common and remote items for our public use. It abounds in science, fiction, history, music and every subject under the sun. There are times when we might feel overwhelmed, but there always is someone there to help us.
October long has been considered Respect Life Month by many churches. With this in mind, Portage County Right to Life has obtained permission to present a display of some life issues, offering easily read materials on specific subjects.
Our focus will change each week. The topics include chastity, unborn child development, decisions in crisis pregnancy and euthanasia The table has a Q & A game box, and will offer free flyers and materials to take as well as resources.
We hope you will find this display fun and informative.
Avis Pings chairperson Portage County Right to Life Stevens PointI can go take a look if you like and report back on what I find.

I don't see why the library wouldn't.
If I see a member of the campus Pro Choice Alliance I'll bring this display up with them.

4. If they are truly respecting life, |
|
I want to see a display about infant mortality and what to do about it. I want to see a display about how many people have died in Iraq and what we can do to get out of there. I want to see a display about how we can make sure that every American has access to adequate food and health care so they may remain alive.
If you live in this are, you might want to suggest these displays.

They should be against ALL killing and death if they are "right-to-life".

7. Here's an event at the Portage Cty library that's got more merit |
|
Monday, October 10, 6:30 PM, Portage County Public Library Pinery Room. The End of Suburbia: Oil Depletion and the Collapse of the American Dream. A video documentary
Oil industry insiders are talking about “peak oil,” the beginning of the end of the oil era, which they say is here, now. Going far beyond just higher prices at the pump, the effects of this will, in the words of author Jim Kunstler (who spoke, recently, at UWSP), challenge “the project of civilization as we know it.”
Please join the Portage County Greens and Concerned Citizens of Stevens Point for a viewing and discussion of this documentary.
