Bush in Wausau
All Wisconsin DUers we will need help in Wausau. Bush is coming to Wausau next Thursday, October 7. Don't know time or place yet. It would be great if we had a large group of protesters to greet him. I'll keep you posted.

2. Afternoon visit
Bush's appearance will be about 2:30 PM this Thursday. Site not named as yet but it will probably be Greenheck field house. It is about the only place big enough and the Greenhecks are big donors to Bush. Will let you know when I know.

5. I don't know of any yet.
The canidates usually hit one area and run. Laura Stepford Bush only did Wausau and then left the state as far as I know.

4. Sign thefts this weekend
Bush is coming to Wausau on Thursday, as I've posted before, but there is a new wrinkle.
Some of the Bushbots have been out committing crimes this weekend. Stealing signs in the dead of night, I guess that makes them common criminals, in record numbers. Each theft is punishable by a fine of $250 for each property they trespassed on to steal the sign. They even had the audacity to steal a huge banner from Dem. headquarters. They must be truly afraid if they feel the need to tamper with an election in this manner.

For any lurkers that find this humorous or in some sick way justified you need to look inward and exam you black heart.

The lasted we heard was that Bush will be in Marathon Park and speaking at 3:00. If you can possibly make it we would love to have you come and protest with us.

PS: I do believe this will back fire as it will strengthen the resolve of the Dems even more.

6. re: fines for stealing signs
Is that a city ordinance, or is it state-wide?

If it is state-wide, it's time to get this info out FAST!!

11. Must be local ordinance.
I can't find anything about Wausau, yet but I did find this about Stevens Point
Election Sign Vandalism Notice
Released March 14, 2003

With Spring General Elections coming on April 1, the City of Stevens Point is once again seeing many different campaign signs in our community.

During the last two weeks, the Stevens Point Police Department has received complaints of campaign signs being moved or damaged. Campaign signs are colorful, and their close proximity to sidewalks can be a temptation to those walking by to damage them, but these signs are also informative and expensive.

It is illegal to move, alter, damage, or destroy campaign signs. Fines related to such acts range from $194 to $225. These fines do not include restitution costs for the replacement of these signs.

Douglas Carpenter, Chief of Police

7. Got some info....
Here is the text of an email I recieved.

FYI

As noted on the website-"tickets are available to active Republican party memebers"(something to that extent)-and they're pretty tight about that. I was denied tickets in Waukesha because I wasn't enough of a Bush supporter-rather-I wouldn't tell them I would vote for Bush. I told them I supported him as my current President, but apparently that wasn't good enough. I also told them they didn't have the right to ask me that, they said for security purposes, they did. To say the least, the whole incident shed a new light on politics for me...so, just to let you know-if you want to get Bush tickets, you'll have to go to Republican Headquarters, and say you support the dude. This might be low of me but as far as I'm concerned, I think you should be able to see your President at a public event regardless of your upcoming vote. It's only propaganda for the whole crowd to look completely taken by his speech. Hope that helps some of you out.

8. Pray for Rain Thursday
The location is Marathon Park, thus it will be an outdoor event. Lets hope for rain, snow, or sleet or all of the above.Just think 5,000 wet republicans - oh thats right, they already are all wet.

9. Young Democrats
This is Goddess40's mom. Learned last night the president of the Young Democrats at UWMC was denied a ticket to see Bush. She said they told her she was a "security threat." Seems the president of the Young Repukes at UWMC told those giving out the tickets who she was. Pretty sick.

10. Shutting down half the schools tomorrow at noon
The west side schools are shutting down at noon, that will be a huge problem for most parents that work outside the home.

My kids go to east side schools, but they don't mind because they are getting out for the afternoon to protest.
