Can someone reassure me that there are single, NICE liberal men in WI? |
|
because I'm sure as hell not meeting any of them and it's bumming me out. I'm a little old and a little pudgy but not a total bow-wow, why do I constantly end up meeting men who are conservative jack asses?

PM me hun. We've got some catching up to do! You are a gorgeous lady. Don't sell yourself short.
Yeah, you definitely need to head into town a bit more. Enderis Park is lovely. We have lots of teachers and profs here. Just about all the neighbors I've met have been liberal. And with an Outpost just down on State Street, I see LOTS of cute liberal hotties in there. Not that I've been looking, mind you! But if I were....
r. and I plan on having a nice party full of libs when it warms up, so hopefully we'll have some interesting lib folks here of all types. Buck up! :-)

For starters, speaking from my own, direct personal experience, slightly older folks who are still on the loose may well be single for a reason. After a while, fear of intimacy stops being a defense mechanism. It turns into habit, or instinct.
But if you're just trying to stay away from knuckle-dragging, conservative troglodytes, in particular, avoid guys (or in my case, gals) in cowboy hats.
That's a poser-filter that works, most of the time, unless they're actually from Montana or Saskatchewan.
I used to think having a lively imagination, and a healthy interest in a wide variety of subjects was relationship gold. But just avoiding boredom isn't enough. You need to find someone who doesn't have to be right, all the time.
Best of luck. Hope you're having (or had) a Happy Snow Day!

instead of going on about how I am waiting for you (pant pant)
I have an idea.
We have 2 presidential campaigns left. Obama and Clinton.
From the results of super tuesday, KO seemed to make a big deal on how men were voting for obama in fairly large numbers-something that had not happened for a democrat in a number of years.
If that is the case, One could assume that if a man is voting for obama, he at least has some democrat or liberal tendencies. If they turn out to be single or nice-I really can not say...
A similar case could be made for a female in the Clinton campaign.
If you are going to fish, you need to go where the fish are (sort of)
Of course this would imply that you could support or at least stomach the correct candidate.
Or you can stay like me-a holdout Edwards supporter. alone
If your posting was just meant to be a ranting- I do hope this is not offensive to you in any way.
oh and as far as the a little old and pudgy thing... I met you at a meet up some months back, and damn--you like fine.

That's actually not a bad idea. I'm still sad about Edwards and can't make up my mind between the other two. But I did go to a Dem fund raiser in Jefferson County over the weekend and met so many cool people that I'm going to also go to their annual President's Day dinner this coming weekend. Doesn't really matter if I meet someone (although that would be nice) it's just fabulous to be in the company of kindred spirits.
PS, thanks for the compliment
