Wisconsin women for Obama- sign on for an ad in the WI State Journal

A librarian from Oregon WI had this idea:

Friends: I am voting for Obama this time. I've waited all my life to vote for a woman for president but I can't in conscience do it in this election. My reasons are many but the primary one is this tragic war.

I got this crazy idea this weekend that I could collect a MINIMUM of 100 signatures in the next 4 days and place an ad in next week's Sunday Wisconsin State Journal (two days before the primary). I am attaching a proposed draft and inviting you to join me with your signature. If you sign, can I also prevail upon you to donate to defray the costs of this ad? Every dollar will count and the more we collect the larger the ad can be and the more prominent a location we can have in the paper.

100 WISCONSIN WOMEN SAY 'YES' TO OBAMA

We've waited all our adult lives to vote for a woman. Our opportunity is here and in conscience we cannot vote for this woman.

In voting for Obama we will remember all women including:

-All women whose loved ones are in Iraq for months at a time, while they are left behind to wonder if there sons, daughters, spouses, partners or friends shall return.

-All women and children whose loved ones have come home from Iraq with broken bodies and spirits or in body bags.

-All women serving in Iraq.

-All the Iraqi women who have died.

-All Iraqi women who have lost their sons and daughters to the violence of this tragic war.

-All the Iraqi women who have been widowed.

-All the Iraqi women who have been raped and terrorized.

-All the Iraqi women who have lost their homes, lost their jobs, lost what freedom they had, lost their opportunity for education, lost their hope, lost their careers.

We shall vote for Mr. Obama who was courageous enough at the beginning of this war to say, "I am not opposed To all wars. What I am opposed to is a dumb war. A rash war. A war based not on reason but on passion, not on principle but on politics".
