What's up with Milwaukee, not enough ballots being printed!
If you're from Milwaukee start making calls, this is outrageous that they are planning to under print the ballots.

http://www.jsonline.com/news/metro/oct04/266144.asp
Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker, citing vote-fraud concerns, is
publicly balking at a City of Milwaukee request for almost 260,000
additional ballots in anticipation of high turnout for the Nov. 2
presidential election.

Mayor Tom Barrett blasted Walker's stance, and Common Council President
Willie Hines Jr. immediately joined in, saying it was an attempt to
suppress the central-city vote.

"I'm going to lay this at the footsteps of the county if there aren't
enough ballots in the city," said Barrett.

Barrett said that the 679,000 ballots the county had agreed to print were
less than the amount prepared for the presidential election in 2000 as well
as for the the gubernatorial race in 2002. He and the city's top election
official said that the city requested 938,000 ballots from the county,
which, by law, pays for and prints ballots

no doubt about it.

2. And what about provisional balloting?
I found an Aug. 25 WI State Elections Board memo which indicates that 10,000 special provisional ballot envelopes have been distributed to municipal clerks across the state and that the clerks' offices will be responsible for printing additional ones. This does not seem to be nearly enough.

Moreover, the Help America Vote Act requires that first time voters lacking identification be permitted to vote this way. So would a shortage of ballots constitute a violation of federal law?

(We have two threads going on this topic, btw.)

3. There's a thread on LBN
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=102&topic_id=902120

And I started one in Campaign 2004 with contact info:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x1067291

Could somebody local please confirm this story and make sure I've got the contact info right before I start my phone calls and subsequently spread this all over the internet?

Why this isn't as big as the 80 pound paper story I don't know..... we need to push this and get it out with wide distribution!
