Gableman vs Butler-I think Butler will win.
Gableman is a typical right-wing Rove-type politician.

Smear and fear.

1. Gableman is a douchebag.
Say no to douchebaggery in Wisconsin.

Now, I consider myself to be a responsible voter -- someone who weighs a good deal of research, looks at positions, the issues, resumes, etc. -- but for this particular race I did none of that. I didn't need to. I took one look at Mike Gableman's picture and knew right away that I was not going to vote for him and there was nothing he could say or do about it to change my mind. Why? Because Mike Gableman is a douchebag.

4. I hope I didn't give the impression that I wrote that
I just linked to the blog. It resonates perfectly with me, so maybe that says enough about my poltical instincts :)

6. LETTER: Butler isn't owned by big donors
http://www.wausaudailyherald.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080321/WDH06/803210712/1638/WDHopinion

The very important race for Wisconsin Supreme Court is almost upon us. We have a fair, intelligent justice that needs to be returned to the bench -- Justice Louis Butler. He most importantly upholds the Constitution and state law and is not influenced by big donors or corporations. His philosophy is to listen to both sides presented and then make an impartial decision.

Our last election was influenced by millions of dollars flooded into our state by corporations to buy TV ads for Linda Ziegler. She was a flawed candidate as she had heard cases that involved monetary decisions pertaining to her husband. But the ads did their job and she was elected.

Let's have this election decided by the average citizens of the state. Look past the flood of sleazy ads. We already have one justice on the bench who is looking out for the interests of the big corporations. Now let's return Louis Butler to the bench so the little guy has a fighting chance.

5. "Loophole Louie" vs. "Garbagemouth Gableman"
See the political cartoon in the Journal-Sentinel today. Despite what they name him, Butler comes out looking much better.

7. I've been getting out the message among those I know
Alas, politics that aren't of the Presidential scope often fall upon deaf ears.

8. I think people are more aware of the outside forces
trying to control the race this time. Butler has been raising more money than Gableman, and tons of people are stepping forward to endorse and help him. Lots of good press and information out there. So, if people want to have the information its very readily available this time.

Still, turnout is not that high for elections this time of year. That's ok- people who DO vote should know what they're doing.

14. I saw it on sunday, and was so impressed with Justice Butler.
Gableman was unable to accept the fact the Justice Butler followed election laws. He wanted everyone to see this issue as a negative because Gableman does. And Gableman was set on appearances vs. the law, or some nonsense like that.

11. This one is very important.....can't let the Reich wing buy another seat on the SC.
I still can't belive Ziegler was able to lie her way onto the court.

She should be in jail.

His "Dem" sheriff is one of the idiots supporting Gableman and last time around supported Ziegler.
