I can't look. If we lose this court seat its inexcusable.

Milwaukee County Executive REPORTING 78%
Scott Walker (inc) 69,013 57%
Lena Taylor 51,460 43%

Supreme Court
Edit: This is all going to depend on Madison and Milwaukee turnout for Butler...
50% reporting: 2000 more votes for Gableman.

3. Dane County 72-28% for Butler!
They really worked hard here! Glad Gableman wasted his money.

4. Gableman is such a swine
I have never seen such bitter negative commercials in my life.

5. This does not look good.
People are voting along party lines. Madison and Milwaukee cannot make up for all the Republicans in the rest of the state. I have a sinking feeling.

6. I thought it looked good until I saw that Waukesha only has reported 90/206 precincts
I've got a bad feeling. I'm not sure the remainder of Dane and Milwaukee can offset the huge advantage he has in Repuke filled Waukesha.

8. 10,000 votes is a lot to make up.
All our politicians knocked themselves out for Butler- I've never seen so many fundraisers for one person. Lot of ads. The politically aware people get it. We need to do more to educate people and GOTV.

7. At 72% Butler was up 2 points, now at 75%, he's back down by 2 points
This is just so wrong. The race shouldn't even be close. Hopefully, there are a few liberal parts of the state that haven't reported. I know Eau Claire County isn't online and they did a boat load of work for Butler.

Everyone just keep thinking positively.

11. Justice Butler was here in Eau Claire yesterday, wish I could have seen him
I think there is still too much apathy for Democrats and liberals to dominate public office. I have got to believe that a strong majority of the nation would vote for liberal candidates/issues if they would just take it upon themselves to become educated and take part in our government and elections. It is sad how many of our rights we are losing to the corporations and corporate office holders. I see Butler carried Eau Claire by 1,000 votes, but it will not be enough. Yet another good liberal public official loses out to apathy. I feel sick.

9. I think it will be called for Gableman soon.
Eau Claire came back already and Madison and Milwaukee continue to report, improving little. Waukesha still mostly remains out.

12. Yay, another pusbag sack on the Supreme Court
What rights are we going to lose now? Just how much more can Corporate America squeeze out of us before we fucking fight back. I feel like slugging a fat cat Republican.

10. The non-presidential elections are killers for the progressives here in Wis.
Edited on Tue Apr-01-08 11:19 PM by yourout
All the old die hard Republicans turn out but the average Joe who really ends up taking it in the shorts sits home watching American Idol or some other mindless druel.

Gableman will be another seat on the SC bought and paid for by the WMC.

Sometimes I am embarrased at how stupid people are here in cheeseland.

On edit....I belive if this were the November election the outcome would be different.

13. Yup, I look at the man as a hateful POS, and yet hes probably going to win
I remember when I first came to school here and read in the Daily Cardinal that a lawmaker wanted to change the gun laws so that the minimum age for hunting is 8 instead of I believe 12. I was shocked. In Madison, one would never believe what Wisconsin really is, if you never get outside of the city like myself.

15. The necks are indeed red
Even in the City of Eau Claire, I see a lot of the sorts that would love it if their 8 year old could go huntin' with them. Ridiculous.

14. Yes, this is sickening- surrounded by stupidity and apathy
I tried to get my co-workers to vote today, none even considered it. It just wasn't important enough, I guess. I don't want to hear the pissing and moaning when we lose even more rights to the "Corporate Gods". Vote, G-ddamnit!!! Only 25% turnout in EC county, we should all be saddened and ashamed!

17. Maybe this will be our wakeup call.
I do not want our state to go to McCain. This is a reminder just how evenly divided we really are. Despite the fact that we have 2 Democratic Senators and a Dem Governor, and 5 Dem House seats- this state is 50:50 and all it takes is a little advertising to push it the wrong way.

18. The Apathy will not be the same during the general
If you think there is a depressed youth vote during the GE sometimes? Well there is a super depressed youth vote for something like that. UW really came out for the Democratic Primary, and you can bet your ass we will come out for the GE, especially if Obama ends up being the nominee.

But what is left in the other counties is not going to be able to override Waukesha. It is over.
