The time has come! County caucuses to choose delegates to Denver are tomorrow

Even if you haven't filed the paperwork to be a delegate, do try to attend your county caucus tomorrow, April 6. That's where you help elect the delegates who will go to the congressional district caucuses to choose the actual delegates to Denver.

Be sure to get there before 2 p.m. to get registered (they do close the doors at 2 p.m.). You don't have to be a member of the party to attend and vote, just someone who "wishes to participate as a Democrat."

I wouldn't be surprised if there is a huge turnout in this historic year. We can enjoy the company of other Democrats as we help nominate a new president who will get us back on the path to sanity.

1. Just Got Back , On To Tier Two!

2. My wife and I are off to CD3 tier two, for Obama.

He unfortunately only received 19 of the 28 delegates he was supposed to get, due to low attendance. I believe Hillary got all 16 of the 16 she was to receive here in Eau Claire County. So, 64% of the county-wide vote for Obama equates to only 54% of the county delegates due to indifference and/or lack of local media coverage of the caucus. I am happy to be headed to La Crosse, but not pleased with the 9 delegate loss.

3. The main thing is the delegates to Denver

The candidates will get the number of delegates they earned in the primary, so nothing is really changed. The only difference is that fewer second-tier delegates will be involved in voting for those Denver delegates.

4. True, I figured that out after looking at DPW's site a little more

I am excited for May 4, hopefully someone from my county will be able to go to Denver. The cohesion that our group had today, though, was very cool, and I am glad I decided to do this. Meeting people who hold similar beliefs to mine, who are equally passionate about their politics, is very satisfying, not to mention rare.

5. Same here - hubby and I are off to La Crosse in May

Both Obama and Clinton are a delegate short in our county but that was way better turnout than we had in 2004.
