Drinking Liberally returns to Milwaukee! Wenesday April 16 7-9PM @ Sugar Maple

Drinking Liberally is returning to Milwaukee! We have found a great new home, the Sugar Maple, 441 E. Lincoln Ave. Not only do they have 60 quality beers on tap, but it's SMOKE FREE. At last we can carouse and commiserate without smelling awful the next day!

Also, we welcome Alderman Tony Zielinski as our first special guest!

I was so excited to get the email regarding the return of DL and was going to post this if it wasn't already here. I wasn't able to make the last DU meet at Jimbos because of work. My shrink and therapist have demanded that I get my depressed liberal ass out of the house. So please come, have fun with us (I'm fun really I am but a little nervous around strangers for the first 10 seconds) and help me with my therapy homework for the week :)

I think you'll be in good shape tonight. Even when the most hard line conservative has come to Drinking Liberally, they were never turned away or ejected because we disagree with their politics. Quite the opposite, they started coming regularly because they liked us!

A couple of their guys came to our event (they were actually pretty nice, too), and I think one or two of ours went to theirs. They're still around, I believe.

Both "Drinking Radically" and "Drinking Right" started well after we'd been doing Drinking Liberally for quite some time. Between the two, I'm starting to feel a bit like Steve Jobs here!

11. Ok, I had such a great time I'm wondering if you've starting planning next month

One of my good friends runs the Boots and Kittens website (which mocks Boots and Sabers) and he really wants to make the trek into Milwaukee for the next meeting but needs more than a day's notice to hire wranglers for his loinfruit.

It was a lot of fun and if any of you didn't make it last night but were thinking about it, come next time! There were tons of DUers there and lots of other cool lefties as well.

but seriously. The next MKE-DL will be on Wednesday, May 21. They're always on the third Wednesday of the month.

Any requests for elected people you'd like to see? Somebody said they'd love to see Milwaukee Ald. Willie Hines. Oh, and maybe I can try working on Feingold again... I got Mayor Barrett to come to MKE-DL at Club G, but the good senator might be a little more tricky. ;->
