I love Johnny Depp and all but... |
|
this movie shoot is seriously screwing up my life. Can't get from point a to point b without going through point z, rubberneckers driving like blind monkeys, fake machine gun fire at 7 am...make it stop
that is all

1. OMG, where? I wanna rubberneck too. |

Seriously. I knew they were filming in Wisconsin but I didn't know they'd be here now and I never heard where. If they're up north at the hideout, they must of have loved the snow last weekend.

Today, they were supposed to be filming in a rural area.
BTW, Johnny spent 1/2 an hour greeting the fans who showed up. :loveya:

And those things people always embarrass themselves with. That's why I wouldn't have any desire to meet them.
But...I was in Madison when Back to School was shot and always wanted to watch the damn thing being made. I had a co-worker who stood in line for two hours to apply to be an extra. I've always been interested in watching one being filmed since.

8. I wondered where they filmed that... |

I managed to miss the shooting of Necessary Roughness at UNT (University of North Texas) back in 1991.
I had moved back to Austin at that point, but it was big news in Denton at the time.

9. I saw one of the scenes being shot. |
|
I had some time after my last class of the day to hang out.
It was on Bascom Hill. One of the extras was a top **** in the College Republicans, but I didn't see her in the final print so I'm guessing she ended up on the cutting room floor.

I was working for UW Credit Union at the time - in the branch that was in the basement of the Peterson Building. It will be really freaky if you tell me you have ever been down there.
I had a full time job so I couldn't be involved and saw none of the filming. My co-worker was also a student at the time. She could arrange her schedule to apply as an extra and participate. She was a bit of a social butterfly who knew at least a third of the students on campus. I always figured watching the movie with her would have to be an obnoxious experience. She'd spend the whole movie pointing out all the people she knew.

11. I've been in the Peterson Building a few times. |

The only times I was in the basement was to pick up my Diploma and to get a transcript.

12. Well, when I had Oprah and Steadman in my cab in Milwaukee one night... |
|
...I merely said, "Where to?" and "Thanks!" (they tipped pretty well)
OTOH, when I had the Red Hot Chili Peppers in my cab, I said something on the order of, "STOP PLAYING WITH MY FUCKING RADIO!!" They were kind of 'exuberant' that night, I guess.
It's ALL about context...

goes in next week for costume fitting and an appropriate haircut. I'm already anticipating how much fun it will be to tease this child for being a movie star ;-) He's a little ham and always making movies on YouTube and stuff so he's pretty jazzed up about it.

14. So tonight I did the stand around by the barriers and hope he |
|
comes up to shake hands etc. like the last time...he did! And me, a woman who has loved him since his 21 jump street days, could only think 2 things 1. God he's gorgeous, but damn, short too 2. I'm not gonna try to shake his hand, he's touched at least 50 other people already and there's a nasty stomach virus going around town... I am a neurotic old woman!

15. I've often wondered about how small he is |
|
I'd probably feel like an Amazon woman standing next to him. I'm not particularly tall but I'm what in the olden days we used to call "big boned" I bet he's like a little skinny twig. I actually think I would hate to meet him because in my imagination he can be big and swashbuckling.

18. Well I never heard of him until |
|
about a week ago. However, I did read some Dillinger related books about 30 years ago. Also read other desperado type books, usually in the context of their alleged lost/buried treasures, etc. I'll wait until the library gets the DVD so I don't have to worry about any possible buyer's regret. Did I ever tell you about how mad I was after wasting money renting the video of The Blair Witch project?
