New Voter Project = problems with registration

I was told today (but have been unable to confirm) the people registered by New Voter Project wouldn't be on the voter roll becuase the NVP workers weren't properly deputized. Although those folks can still register at the polls, they will need proper ID and second form confirming their address.

New Voter Project specifically targeted the youth vote. If young voters go to the polls and can't vote, it's very unlikely they'll take the time to return with proper ID. Be sure to remind evryone to bring all materials necessary to ensure they can vote.

If they weren't trained and certified to be deputy registrars, then they were using "motor voter" registration procedures, which do specify the voter present the types of ID you mention the first time they vote. The folks who were sposoring the registration drive should have been taught that fact to all their volunteers, and done everything possible to make sure the volunteers told everyone they registered.
