So...my trip to Minneapolis last week?
Of course I had to take some back roads to get where I needed to go because I didn't want to deal with 94 and the counterflow mess.
I went from Milwaukee up to Oshkosh. Unfortunately, I missed the turnoff I wanted there, so ended up taking parts of 10 up through Fremont and Waupaca, to Stevens Point, up to Wausau, then over west on 29 to 94 and over that way. I diverted through Menomonie for some cemetery pix.
Then, I took 21 almost all the way home (after a divert through Eau Galle for more cemetery pix).
TWELVE. Count em....TWELVE pro-life billboards and signs I saw. TWELVE. Each one made me more and more angry.
People can bitch about Texas and how awful it is all they want. But in all the time I lived there, I saw ONE.
:grr:
Other than the Christo-fascist bullshit, it was a pretty drive. I got to see more of the state that I hadn't seen before. The area down near Eau Galle (southwest of Menomonie) is really pretty.

And I live in one of those counties you drove through with, IIRC, at least two of those signs you saw along Hwy 29.
So far, it seems the Christo-fascists can put up all the billboards they want. In 20 years of doing it, they haven't budged public sentiment in the state by more than a percentage point according to polls on reproductive choice. It's one of those things that just makes them feel better. If they worked, you'd see twice as many choice billboards.

2. Well, just so long as they don't blow up clinics |

Quite frankly, those boards are so damn ugly that I doubt they have any effect.
