Porterfield – Today, U.S. Senator Russ Feingold announced his endorsement and support for Stan Gruszynski in his bid to represent the people of the 36th Assembly district.

"I know Stan well; he and I worked together when we were both in the Wisconsin legislature a few years back. He is a leader, he is grounded in the values of northeast Wisconsin where he grew up, and he has not lost his passion for open, honest government. Not to mention, his common sense approach to problem solving." Feingold stated.

Gruszynski recently announced his candidacy for the 36th Assembly district stressing the need for northeast Wisconsin to have a greater voice and more influence in the decision-making process in Madison. He wants to put the legislature back on to a track that is less partisan and more cooperative and results focused.

"We can not continue on this path and expect that we can effectively find common ground on the major issues our state is facing," Gruszynski pointed out. "People are beginning to suggest it is time to put some adults in the room down there and I believe my experience and approach will help us get where we need to go."

Gruszynski is a former member of the Wisconsin Assembly where he served on the Education, Rural Development, Natural Resources, and Consumer Affairs committees. He currently directs the Rural Leadership and Community Development Project which is administered through the College of Natural Resources at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point.

"I appreciate that Russ is willing to step forward and embrace my candidacy; 16 years ago I was one of the first legislators to support his bid for the US Senate. I was proud to do so, and I am proud of the way he has served our state as a US Senator. He has stood by his commitments and has been a role model for those who serve in public life." Gruszynski said.

The 36th Assembly District consists of all of Forest, Florence and Menominee Counties, as well as most of Marinette county and parts of Shawano, Oconto, Marathon and Langlade counties.

This is a good progressive Democratic candidate!
