My opinion, he is acting like a diva... when you read how the Packers at the owner's meeting in March, flew to MS to meet with him, he was going to return and they welcomed him , but 2 days before the announcement, he changed his mind again.

What were the Packers to do at the draft in April? They had to go with the thought of new, young people to fill the gap he might have left. The gap is narrowing with his prmia donna attitude now.

1. Channel 4 has become all Brett all the time.
It's unbelievable and unbearable. I think they've spoken with everyone who's ever been associated with the Packers ever.

:banghead:

Besides, the ONLY joy of putting up with the cold and heartache of loss of the championship game was knowing I was there for Brett's last game. He's fucking that up for me.

2. This is just plain sad...
Doesn't he have somebody in his life who's willing to say, "Enough is enough?" He's going to come back for a year in an entirely new offensive system with players he doesn't know and he's going to suck. And rather than be remembered as one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game, he going to be remembered as that pathetic who didn't know when to quit.

3. Michael Jordan did it, too.

And it's one of the many reasons I hate Michael Jordan.

4. The only real choices they will have are to play him or trade him.
Just giving him his release is never going to happen. For the Packers' sake you can only hope that they trade him and get some great value for him. If Farve blows a knee this season or breaks a leg he will wish he had stayed retired since he didn't need the money. He had a chance to go out on a good note after a better than expected season (how very, very few ever get to go out on the absolute top like John Elway?). So few of these guys have the common sense to know when to hang it up.

5. Geez I thought the most recent hurricane was BERTHA, how'd we get to Farve?
Are Surface Turf Temps favorable or will wind shear prevent further development?

8. I still think the whole retirement thing was Favre trying to get out of Green Bay.
I think as he has gotten older he really does not like playing in the cold. Just watching him in the Bears game and the Giants was enough to convince me he wants to move to a warm weather team or a dome team.

9. But when you let the weather affect your game...
Edited on Sat Jul-12-08 10:46 AM by cmt928
Then it's time to get out altogether... Orton and Manning played without thinking about "how bad" the weather was and they had to play in bad weather - what if he was on team that ended up playing here or Buffalo or Cleveland or Chicago?

When Favre said before the Bears game that the weather was bad, it was already affecting him. He then claimed it was the "worst weather" he had ever played in.

And when the championship game was predicted to be as cold as it ended up, he again said before the game he had "never played in weather like that" and he let it affect him.

Come on, he played for 16 years here and weather has been bad previously, he just didn't remember because he was YOUNGER - weather affects you more as you age - ask me!

11. I don't have an emotional investment in this one way or the other
but it's cracking me up how much Favre is all over the Lounge and I intend to play my part by posting on all the threads there to keep it going. I know it's really serious stuff to a lot of Packers fans and I apologize if my making light of it hurts anyone's feelings but I think it's hilarious.

12. The fans treat him like he's super human and then are surprised
he acts like he is. All those that fawned over him are now getting their adoration kicked in their faces, I wonder will they learn to view sports and athletes in a more realistic less worshipful way - I can dream can't I.
