New WI Presidential Poll = Kerry
Wisconsin: Kerry 50% Bush 42%

When Ralph Nader is mentioned as an alternative, Kerry's lead is cut in half--45% to 41%--with Nader taking 8% of the vote.

Moral of the story, friends don't let friends vote Nader.

3. What the hell happened to that metting between Nader and Kerry?
That didn't come together, did it?

No matter, when people are more exposed to Kerry, Nader's numbers will fall. A lot of those people are either miffed that their guy didn't get the nomination or just progressives who haven't heard enough of Kerry's message yet. I'm not worried. Perhaps he will drop out. We should e-mail him every day with words to that effect.

5. Actually, Kerry loses 5 percent and Bush 1 percent
Either way, it doesn't matter. Any state where Kerry is ahead at all he will win because undecideds will add to his margin.

This is great news because the most recent poll before this had Bush ahead by a small margin. See http://www.dcpoliticalreport.com

4. Thank God!
Wasn't it a tossup for a while, or am I thinking of Minnesota? One of those traditionally liberal upper midwest states (I went to grad school at UW, so I'm not just some ignernt east coaster).

Either way, let's all raise a slice of cheese to our friends in WI!!

6. Wisconsin's still in play, along with Minnesota
It's sad, really. These numbers are encouraging, though I doubt Nader will get even half of what he's polling. He didn't in 2000...
