1. Get there early, eat a lot of brats
drink a few beers, and get me a ticket. Just kidding about the last part. Root the Packers on against the hated Cowboys. Not kidding about that. Oh and pack extra clothing in case you need it. GO PACKERS!

15. Really??The Pack have won more then 5 Super Bowls?
I always thought the SB was where Lombardi's name is?? The Cowboys seem to have 5 of those, and they haven't even been in existence half as long as the Pack..Of course you might be referring to championships that occurred back when there were 6 teams, but IMO they really don't count as Super Bowl's now do they?

16. NFL TITLES
How many do the Cow"boys" have? This team needs black and white stripes, not silver and blue on their uniforms, but I guess my real problems with them is the Cowboys of the 90's...Who could forget Barry - Gun-AToting-In- An Airport Switzer, then there's Kid-saw-me-buying-Coke Sanders, oh yeah, Stabbing - my - barber Irvin, Erik reality-rape t.v. Williams, blah blah blah. Aikman isn't fit to be mentioned in the same breath as Favre, although he was very good & seemed like a decent guy. I liked (& still do) Emmit Smith, ditto on him (Aikman). So it isn't all bad, but if you're comparing the Cowboys to the Packers, forget it - no team (except maybe the Bears) has the tradition the Packers do. Hell, do you know how many people can'y stand the packers, but come to Lambeau Field because it is a mecca for all sports fans. Too bad, the Cowboys will never have that, never. And then there's the fans, think I'll just stop right there. This is getting too long.
Back to my original post. I have 100 Kerry/Edwards pins which I plan to hand out. I'm sneaking in a sign too, Packers on one side, Kerry/Edwards on the other side. If that jumbotron comes on me, I'll flip that sucker so fast, your head will spin. I can only dream of that making national t.v. I can hope, can't I???

17. You're delusional...
Greatest team bar none, are the Cowboys.. Sure they have broke a few laws here and there, but I seem to remember Favre being a druggie, and some tight end sleeping with a 17 year old.. I am sure I can find a few more, but why don't we just agree that every team has bad apples.. The facts are the Cowboys have been the beast team since entering the NFL.. Now if a title can be considered in the same league with an NFL Championship(which when you compare them to titles the Pack won with only 6 teams in the league doesn't seem fair) than the Cowboys already have 8..That is 8 in less then 50 years.. How long have the Pack existed?? The Cowboys are the best, SF is second, but we all know how delusional you Pack fans are so I will let you reply to this about how great the Pack are and I will just keep the next response to myself..

20. I Invite You To Come And Visit Lambeau Field,
and see what a real franchise is like. Vince Lombardi was a Democrat too.
What does that have to do with anything? Well, this is a Democratic board, after all. Lombardi was the first NFL coach to have black and white players room together. Also, Vince talked to the team and said that if any of them gave any crap to the players who were gay, or exhibited any racist tendencies, they'd be off that team pretty damn fast. Favre was not a druggie either. He admitted his mistake got treatment, he's clean, he's a family man, etc. etc. Is he perfect? NOBODY is. You should read When Pride Still Mattered, by a Pulitzer Prize-winning author. You'd learn what a mistake you're making by dissing the Pack, the REAL America's team. Oh yeah, Dick Schaap wrote Instant Replay and Distant Replay, two excellent books I recommend for you. Mark Chmura was found innocent by the way. What's the matter, still haven't gotten over the Ice Bowl?
Hey buddy, I love my team, you love yours. Let's leave it at that.

"Greatest team bar none, are the Cowboys"

Clearly you are the delusional one here. To discount titles earned when guys still paid with 3 hots and a cot, and helmets were for sissies, is the mark of the typical Cowgirl fan in denial.

"Sure they have broke a few laws here and there, but I seem to remember Favre being a druggie, and some tight end sleeping with a 17 year old.. "

A few???? To compare Favre becoming addicted to vicodin, what like 7 or 8 years ago?, because the pain of his job day in and day out, caused him to lean on it for a short while. Troy (waaaaaa I have another concussion waaaaa) Aikman was NOTHING, in endurance compared with Favre's 197 consecutive starts. Do you think that it might just be possible that sometimes Favre has played in such a state as to render ANY other QB incapable? To compare using a few extra vics to Irvin's willful use of cocaine, usually with strippers or hookers, then bringing disease home to his wife, is for lack of a better term, asinine.
As to Chamura's one time admittedly bad mistake with a CONSENSUAL 17 year old. How many Cowgirls RAPED girls younger? I know there were at least 2 team members with 4 or 5 charges each, most of which were oh so charmingly eliminated via Jerry Jones bribes. What was with that nasty ass plastic surgery he had, anyway? You would think a billionaire could afford a better plastic surgeon.

"The facts are the Cowboys have been the beast team since entering the NFL.."

I couldn't have said it better myself. They are a beastly team. Well put. Surely you couldn;t have meant to type best...

"which when you compare them to titles the Pack won with only 6 teams in the league doesn't seem fair"

Call the waaaambulance quick! OK here's the math:
Cowgirl's : 8 championships in 50 years.... 8/50=.16 So 16% of their seasons end up in championships...

Packer's: 15 championships in, 81 years, I believe...15/81=.19 or 19% So 19% of their seasons end up in championships...

Ergo, your theory of blind acquisition of titles due to mere time served in the NFL does not hold up.

"The Cowboys are the best, SF is second,"

What statistics, pray tell, do you base that on?

"we all know how delusional you Pack fans are"

I've already covered your projection of your own delusion here, but it is a good place to mention this. The Packer's season tickets are sold out for over 30 years, and there is a waiting list 100,000 names long. I've seen alot of empty Cowgirls seats recently, but I don't have the hard numbers. I would also humbly submit to you that the Packers don't need dime store whore bleached blond silicone laden cheerleaders to get people to come to the games, because the Packers' level of play was always sufficient. True we had to suffer through the Lynn Dickey years, but the Packers always played with the hearts, not their wallets. In fact, the recent expulsion of McKenzie because of locker room disturbances is proof, that this ideal exists in the packer organization today.
The other players found his greed distracting. Quite a bit different from the Crack and Ho parties typical in Dallas.

"I will just keep the next response to myself.."

I'm sure you will. You can only argue on the wrong side of truth for so long...

Also the G stands for God. The D in Dallas, stands for the Devil. Everyone knows that:eyes:
The trophy was named after Lombardi for a reason. Your reply to that was Dallas had won so many of them, discounting the fact that the trophy bears the name of the best coach ever of the best team ever, because this fact was and is common knowledge.

By the way Dinger, Great rings of fire! is that an awesome sigline!

Edited on Tue Oct-19-04 08:58 PM by sybylla
The Packers have been around more than 75 years and by now, probably 80. If not the oldest, nearly the oldest continuous football team in existence along with the Chicago Bears. Haven't moved. Haven't change names even once. The Packers are what you might call founders of professional football as we know it.

And that makes what difference? Didn't you know size doesn't matter?

Why do people insist on calling men "women" (Vikqueens, Cowgirls, pussies) in order to put them down? I'd expect better from DUers, honestly.

You're stomping on tradition. /sarcasm

I know what you mean and I have a cow (oops, another feminine word) when my boys do the same thing. But those words have a history with Packer fans. Unfortunately, we're not likely to get them removed from the fan dictionary any time soon.

8. I remember in the 60's the Packer /Cowgirl games, the greatest
game ever played (pro) -- the Ice Bowl (greatest college game was WI-USC in '63 Rose Bowl, but I digress). I also remember the 5 or 10 Cowgirls that joined the Texas National Guard at the time. They were healthy football players, unlike Jack Kemp who got a pass because of his bad knee -- military duty would have been to strenuous, but I digress again. Little did I know at the time that another cowgirl would get the same deal -- lucky guy hit the trifecta -- no draft, no active duty, no combat. He would later smear a guy that earned a Silver Star, two Bronze Stars, and three Purple Hearts at about the same time. Ain't it great to live in America where merit rules.

Dallas was an expansion team in 1960, since that same time, the Packers have won six NFL titles: 1961;62;63;66;67; and 96.

21. Hey, The Bears and Packers Are A Great Rivalry
I've never met a Bear Fan I didn'tlike. Awesome rivalry, and mutual respect.
Got no problem with the Bears. They deserved that win. I remember the Sunday after Wthe great Walter Payton passed away, the Bears won at Lambeau, in exciting fashion, but I remember a Packer fan held up a sign . . . .

"To Walter Payton . . . . the only Bear I ever loved."

Kudos to "Sweetness." May he rest in peace.

Yes, living in the Milwaukee area, the rivalry is quite fun.

I get a lot of grief, but it is always done in fun. Unfortunately, we will not win the second game this year...
