Congressional Primaries in CD1 and CD6
Just my 2 cents on the September 9 primary

CD1 has 2 Democrats running for the nomination:

Paulette Garin http://paulettegarin.com/

Marge Krupp http://kruppforcongress.com/

John Mogk has dropped out. Thankfully, so has Dr. Thomas.
Mike Hebert is not a serious candidate.

Paulette and Marge are both good candidates, but if I lived in the 1st I would be voting for Paulette. She is incredibly smart and has responded very quickly and specifically to Paul Ryan's positions. She's a true progressive and has a handle on public policy. I can easily imagine her being a congresswoman.

CD6 also has 2 Democrats running for the nomination:

Roger Kittelson is an anti-choice "Ron Kind" type of Democrat.

Mark Wollum is a progressive Democrat.

If I lived in the 6th I'd be voting for Mark.

1. My Further 2 cents
I had the opportunity to attend Camp Wellstone with Marge and I think she would also make a great congress woman and I know she was smart bright and a fantastic fighter.

being that I am a voter in the 6th I can shed some light between Mark and Roger.

Roger has been working on this for over a year now building an organization he is strongly anti-war and would be an advocate for farmers.

Mark has impressed me because he did basically start in May and managed to get enough signatures to get on the ballot with little or no help. However he has not been an active member of the state/county party and just joined the party a month ago. So his Democratic street cred is minimal.

I think of the two Roger has a better chance against Tom Petri. While I certainly don't agree with Roger on all the issues I think we cannot afford to be a single issue voter in this election it is too important to get at least a conservative dem in there (rather than a liberal Republican)

For me personally it is a choice between wanting to win an conscience and We gotta win.

2. Marge Krupp wins primary in CD1
Congress Dist. 1 (Dem) REPORTING 100%
Marge Krupp 5,832 37%
Paulette Garin 5,015 32%
Mike Hebert 4,315 27%
John Mogk 655 4%

Well, congratulations to Marge. I guess it wouldn't have made a difference even if those 655 people knew that John Mogk dropped out a month ago.

Roger Kittelson 7,437 62%
Mark Wollum 4,548 38%
