Who voted in Wisconsin today? I did in La Crosse.
Edited on Mon Oct-06-08 05:48 PM by elocs
I arrived at the City Clerk's office at about 1 p.m. and the ballots had only just arrived, so I came back a few hours later and cast my vote. Obama/Biden is at the very top.

2. Absentee voting under way in La Crosse, stalls elsewhere:

.
MADISON— Absentee voting for the presidential race is under way in La Crosse and across Wisconsin — but not quite yet in the state's two largest cities.

Absentee ballots were supposed to be available starting Monday under state law, which requires they be ready 30 days before an election.
But city workers in Madison, Milwaukee and Oshkosh say they are still trying to finalize their ballots. Aides say absentee voting in person should start Tuesday in Madison and Oshkosh, and Wednesday in Milwaukee.

Officials in La Crosse, Green Bay, Racine, Kenosha, Eau Claire and Wausau say absentee voting is under way in those cities.

Government Accountability Board director Kevin Kennedy says it's not unusual for absentee ballots to be delayed for a few days because of technical issues.

At least I was able to vote today.

6. "Absentee in person" it's called
Living in the middle of nowhere, I have to wait until next week when my town clerk will have the ballots.

9. October 4th was the deadline for ballots

to be delivered to the municipal clerks (statewide deadline).

EVERYONE, go to your clerk's office as soon as possible, and request to vote absentee IN PERSON. You fill out the request form, the clerk should verify that you are registered, and then you're handed your ballot and a yellow envelope. You vote your ballot, put it in the envelope, and give it back to the clerk. Voting early in person is the best way to confirm that you are properly registered, and you have time to take care of any problems in your registration prior to election day, if needed.

:hi:
