Dem Leadership
So folks, what is going to happen in the Assembly as far as the leadership goes? As for me I would like to see Speaker Sheridan and Assistant Majority Leader Seidel. The rest I am not sure.

CAUCUS SCHEDULE FOR NEXT WEEK
Assembly Republicans: 1 p.m., Monday, 417-N.
Senate Democrats: Noon, Tuesday, 201-SE.
Assembly Democrats: 1 p.m., Wednesday, 417-N.

LEADERSHIP CONTESTS SHAPING UP FOR ASSEMBLY DEMOCRATS
Four Democrats want their colleagues to elect them speaker for the next legislative session, while only two have emerged as candidates for the majority leader’s post. There are two candidates for speaker pro tem and two candidates for assistant majority leader.

For speaker, Pedro Colon, Fred Kessler, Jon Richards, all of Milwaukee; and, Mike Sheridan of Janesville have sent letters to colleagues asking for their support.

For majority leader, Joe Parisi Madison has sent a letter to caucus members seeking support, while Tom Nelson of Kaukauna is reported to be lining up support for the same post.

In the race for assistant majority leader, Jason Fields of Milwaukee and Donna Seidel of Wausau are announced candidates.

Louis J. Molepske, Jr. of Stevens Point, Jeff Smith of Eau Claire, and Peter Barca of Kenosha want to be caucus chair.

Tony Staskunas of West Allis and Gary Hebl of Sun Prairie are seeking the post of speaker pro tem.

Democrats will caucus next Wednesday, Nov. 12, at 1 p.m. in Room 417-N. In previous leadership elections, the rule has been if a member runs for one office and is not elected, the member is not allowed to seek another at that election.

1. Any preferences?
DUers....what's the "morning line" on the candidates?

Anyone want to pick a favorite?

2. Preferences?
That the power is spread around.

Likelihood? That Madison and Milwaukee will get first dibs on whatever seats they want.
