3. I've never seen Caroline
in person, and I was almost surprised at my own excitement when I got the announcement. I've admired her so much, and would love to shake her hand and thank her for all she and her family have done for our country.

She's going to be coming to the AFSCME building, to meet with people who are there for phonebanking and poster-making. That's ten minutes from my house! :D

Wausau is... I don't know, like a million miles away... :(

4. bush boo boo in Wausau
Great--maybe Clarke can counter some of the bush talk from his visit a little over a week ago.
I heard Bush made some boo-boo up there in N. Wisc. which really irked the farmers.

Outsource jitters await Bush
Richland Center workers train Mexicans
By Samara Kalk Derby
October 25, 2004

George W. Bush's visit to Richland Center on Tuesday is invitation only, which will keep unhappy workers from Richland County's largest employer out of the event.

Some of the 450 employees at Rockwell Automation in Richland Center, 60 miles northwest of Madison, are concerned about outsourcing, especially considering that some of them have already trained workers from Tecate, Mexico, to do their jobs.

The president's visit, which is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. at Richland Center High School, is called "Focus on the Economy With President Bush."
:D

7. 3, 500 at kerry rally in Green-Bay.

"apparent" theft??

......Monday night, the Democratic presidential candidate criticized President Bush for the recent apparent theft of 380 tons of high-grade explosives in Iraq.

“Now our troops are less safe and the American people are less safe,” Kerry said in his 25-minute speech. “Once again this president has failed to meet the responsibilities of commander in chief.”.....

Protesters fight for their say at Kerry rally

By Jose de Jesus
jdejesus@greenbaypressgazette.com

ASHWAUBENON — Political protest crossed generations Monday night.

It was obvious two young boys were irritating protester and President Bush supporter Henry Wickman Monday night.

The boys, gathered at the entrance to the Radisson Hotel & Conference Center waiting for Democratic presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry’s visit, held Kerry-Edwards signs 10 feet away from Wickman.

Cody Torp, 14, and Nick Hoegger, 13, of Green Bay shouted Kerry’s name hard and clear until Wickman approached the boys and stripped them of their signs. Wickman carried a sign supporting Bush.

“We should at least have our own area to ourselves,” Wickman, 54, of Green Bay, told the boys.

Torp didn’t like Wickman’s action.

“I think it’s disrespectful to us and Kerry,” he said.

Wickman was one of about 15 protesters who gathered to show their support for the Bush-Cheney ticket.

And occasionally the protesters had the support of bingo bus drivers, taxi drivers and even an Oneida police officer in a squad car.

Sometimes, they didn’t. Some folks made obscene gestures, cursed the protesters and booed them.

“Four more years of killing,” a Kerry supporter told protesters.

9. MILC bill
Bush said he favored the MILC bill that has something to do with Wisconsin dairy farmers being paid the same as the rest of the nation for their milk. The very next day Hastert refused to bring the bill to the floor, Bush didn't intercede, so the bill is dead for the time being.

10. Just heard about that too
Worse yet, he (Bush*) seems to be repeating the same lie everywhere in Wisconsin.

btw: Good seeing you.

11. Finally got to see Gen. Clark in person
I am still in awe of the man.

He's a class act and has remarkable grace about him. He delivered a great speech for Kerry and presented it without hyperbole; just facts, truth and logic.

I hope Kerry has a place for him in his administration.
