Appleton Post Crescent endorses Bush
They say that Bush has done such a bad job that he needs to fix it to protect his legacy. Does that make any sense at all?

snip -

"Bush’s handling of the war in Iraq and the growing deficit are causes for real concern. But, as troubled as we are with those matters, Kerry and the Democrats unfortunately have failed to show us they could do better.

This sounds cynical, but it’s realistic: Bush has a greater stake in containing the deficit and fixing Iraq, if only to repair his legacy. If, in four years, Iraq is not stable and the deficit is not substantially reduced, he and the Republican Party, which controls Congress, will be hard-pressed to point any fingers.

This is not an endorsement of the last four years. It’s a mandate to correct them."

1. It must make sense to some.
There is an intelligent guy here at work who basically thinks the exact same way. Pretty much that * is a fuckup but that since Kerry hasn't said *precisely* how he'd do better, he'll stick with Chimpy.

Unbelievable. I don't get it.

2. Well, if these problems cannot be fixed in the next term....

maybe Bush should stick around so that the inevitable and forcoming disasters fall onto him. Afterall, why should John Kerry get hit with the SHIT that was a result of Bush's failed mis-administrion??

3. Gee,
what I surprise. I'm sure the Green Bay Press Gazette will be next in line. They already endorsed Michiels (spelling?).

4. AND...
the same newspaper that asked its readers for more pro-Bush letters because they were getting so many anti-Bush/pro-Kerry letters-to-the-editor.

6. Is this a Gannett paper?
Maybe the orders have come from on high...

Green Bay Press-Gazette is an embarassment. I think I will write and tell them why I do NOT subscribe to their paper!
