What if I screwed up my ballot |
|
I'm sitting here, having read the thread in the election section about voting for Prez separately from a straight Dem ticket, and panicking because I can't remember how I marked the ballot.
Here in New Berlin, we have the "felt tip marker fills in the arrow" method of voting. I THINK I marked the straight ticket Dem, and according to the sample ballot I just looked up, that should take care of Prez and everything else.
But what if I marked Straight Dem, but then also marked a vote for John Kerry separately. What happens? Is my ballot invalid then?
Geez, I know it's just nerves getting to me, but I have this urge to go to the New Berlin City Hall and ask them to dig out my ballot. (fat chance)
Help!

1. let your mind feel at ease... |
|
if bush wins wisconsin by 1 vote and thus the last bit o' electoral votes to get elected we'll just know who to blame! you'll have to host one hell of a tupperware party to redeem yourself afterwards, but what are the chances that it'll be your lone vote that dooms america and the world?
:D see, think happy thoughts!

2. As long as you didn't cross party lines you're fine |
|
You marked a straight Dem ticket and then marked Kerry so you're fine. The intent is clear and that is very important.

3. As I understand the law, once a ballot is submitted |
|
it is submitted. However, if you screw up a paper ballot BEFORE you submit it, you can get up to 3 replacement ballots to get it right.
