7. My new favorite, from right here on DU... |
|
...is "WHAT ARE THEY HIDING?"
I'm not sure about other activities. So how can we identify one another? I'll be one of probably several who will be wearing a black beret with a peace button on it.

8. Well, I'll be wearing black :) |
|
I will likely be wearing a long black coat with my peace sign pin with an American flag on it.
If I think of something more descriptive, I'll let you know.
Not sure I will do a sign since I'm taking the bus.

I got there late as the buses were really behind schedule. I ended up as a pall-bearer for one of the coffins. Saw a few people with black berets and peace sign buttons, but none of them would admit to being you :)
What was up with Bank One? I heard they tried to get everyone off the corner and the cops came and said we could be there. Then some RW nutjobs started causing trouble and that's when the horses showed up.
I had one lady get all ticked off at me as she crossed the street. She felt we were blocking her way with the coffin and told me "Why don't you just support the President?" I told her, "because I won't support a war criminal". Then she grumbled at a few more people on the southeast corner and vanished.
Morans.
While waiting for the bus, I talked to some guy when he asked me why I was wearing a black hat. We talked about the news, the media, and Bush. He had obviously been drinking, but when his bus came, he hugged me and said "I'm glad you were there". I meet the most interesting people riding the bus. Starting to wonder if it's worth getting my car fixed :)
What's your story? Did you watch the DC protests today?

<LOL>
I thought that might have been you pall-bearing, but I wasn't sure. I was pretty much hanging around the corner by the bank, but left about the time the Billionaires were packing up. As I passed them, I shouted, "Obscene as usual!!" They laughed.
So I guess I missed all the action - angry bank people... RW nut cases... horses... Hmmm... too bad my toes were about to crack off, or I would have stayed longer. Oh well.
I worked most of the day yesterday, but I did take my lunch break during the parade so I could see our fellow-travellers protesting. The UFPJ guy was right - we WERE everywhere along that parade route! Very cool.
It's been awhile since I've been a regular bus rider, but it WAS always an adventure. I miss all the reading time...
Well, I hope to see you at the Bread & Butter Jam.
Peace, Ally.

12. That was you on that corner! Dangit... |
|
I was walking over to ask you if you were you and started talking to one of the cops about how he got his spurs over his winter riding boots (I have the same boots and have never been able to do it). By the time I turned around, you were gone.
Oh well, I think I should be able to make the gig in Storyhill.
My fingers and toes were stone cold and I had to go browse in Borders for awhile...but no buying. They are Repug supporters and it was NODD Day.
