Peshtigo Times: John Gard will not run for governor. |
|
http://www.webmediainc.com/54157PT/PeshtigoTimes.taf?function=detail&Layout1_uid2=12966State Assembly Speaker John Gard (R-Peshtigo) officially ended speculation that he would run for governor in 2006 in a statement issued at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, at a press conference in the Ashwaubenon Village Hall in Green Bay.(snip) Gard said, "Recently, there has been a lot of speculation about whether I am going to run for governor in 2006. That speculation is extremely flattering. The very fact that a farm kid from Lena can have his name mentioned seriously as governor of this state tells you all you need to know about the American dream and what a wonderful country we live in.
"Flattering as it is however, I feel an obligation to let my friends, my supporters and my colleagues know that I will not be a candidate for governor in 2006", Gard said.

Mark Green is planning to run for governor next time and I'll wager Gard will be after his seat in Congress.

oops I mean Peshtigo...where does he live? Well, that's okay, lets just make it easy on ourselves and pay him to drive to work from Peshtigo every day. If he lived in the Governor's mansion, he'd miss out on all that cash!

If he doesn't run for Gov then we can still include him in our Lucky 13 and try to get him out of any and all offices once and for all.......
If he runs for Green's Congressional Seat, then it's sort of a win/win situation....he'll be out of our hair in the State Assembly AND the {i]Lil Abner principle sets in (e.g. The best way to never see a person again is to elect him/her to Congress). At any rate, even if he is elected, we aren't any worse off than we are with Green.
