F911 in Central Wisconsin?
Just talked to my neighbor who told me he called the local theatre about showing F911. They're a small independent so I didn't expect much but they told him they are trying HARD to get it and with a little luck could have it by next week!

This is amazingly good news......

Central WI DUers ...I'll keep you informed.

9. Where?
What little city. I think I'll be going to Merrill for movies form now on. My family goes to a lot of movies, sometime more than once.
The pigs in Wausau say they don't show that kind of movie. Maybe I should be proud that they are willing to put their "principles" before greed. NAH, I don't think so.
We are planning a protest if anyone wants to join.
For crying out loud, even Appleton is showing it.

10. Rogers has cinemas in Marshfield, Wis Rapids and
Stevens Point. I suspect if they get the film, they will try to put it on in all three places. Stevens Point would be a pretty quick jaunt for you, I imagine. If you want to come to Marshfield (provided they show it here), we could make a DUer night of it.

11. I'm so confused
I read that editorial in the paper too about what Cedar Creek said about the movie. I've contacted Marcus' main office about 4 times and all four times they've indicated to me that they are not refusing to show it in Wausau. There are not enough reels to go to all of their theatres. I also received a call from Cedar Creek and they indicated the same thing and that we could expect it towards the end of July most likely and it will play at Rogers.

12. This is the answer I got from Marcus
"Fahrenheit 9/11" will most likely open when the distributor has prints for your size market. I'm very sorry for the inconvenience that this must cause you, unfortunately the decision of playing specific movies at our theatres is based solely on the discretion of the film companies themselves. The film companies spend a great deal of publicity on the releases that occur in New York and Los Angeles, and do not make even half the effort to promote in other markets. We would have loved to play these types of films for our guests, but unfortunately we had little control as to where the distributor decided to play them.

I have bought your concerns to the film booker that handles the theatres in your area and he states that he is trying his best to secure these types of films for your area.

Thank you again for taking the time to write us your comments and suggestions. We appreciate your interest in Marcus Theatres.

Sincerely,
Joy Eckstrom

13. Boy that sounds like some serious CYA ...
"Oh no, we didn't mean to say we wouldn't show it ... Its all the distributors fault"

I think they were not smart enough to figure out that the movie was going to make all kinds of money and now that it has, the greed is getting the better of them.
