A group of between 30 and 35 protesters stood outside Rep. Mark Green's Green Bay office Tuesday calling for him to ask for the impeachment of President Bush.
The rally was linked to recent reports in British newspapers on a 2002 meeting that, according to an intelligence brief printed in the newspapers, showed that "intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy" of removing Saddam Hussein in Iraq.
The protesters say that the documents showed Bush lied to the public to start war in Iraq.
Four of the demonstrators went into Green's office and met with a staff member about their claims.
He took their names and addressees and said the congressman would be notified of their visit. :scared:
Rebecca Katers of the Clean Water Action Council, one of the organizers of the informal protest, said the group chose Wednesday as a day many of their supporters were available. She said they had considered a Monday protest but did not want to be seen as anti-veteran on Memorial Day.
Those on hand carried signs saying "Impeach Bush," and comparing "Bush lies" to "Clinton lies."
