7. Mmm....cannibal sandwich!
I had my first cannibal sandwich a few weeks ago at a retirement party. Not bad!

Then again -- I am stupid with my food safety. I eat raw and rare things I really shouldn't.

I can't remember the precise spelling. But my second wife, German, made a kind of steak tartar. Really pretty good. Came to like it. I know it sounds gross but....

9. I haven't had a cannibal sandwich in YEARS, however,
given the current concerns with our beef supply (did you listen to WPR this morning?) I would be extremely careful. I would consider finding a local provider of certified organic beef. Talk to someone in the meat department of a trusted organic shop. I didn't check your info so I don't know where you are to recommend a place. From what I'm understanding, an organic supplier should be ok.

14. The Pick 'n Save on Calumet
carries a line of beef that looks like a good possibility.

It might be worth a phone call.

10. Not for a very long time, but I did enjoy it.

Occasionally I still take a pinch of hamburger when I'm cooking, it's just very tasty.

But I don't think it's something to serve others in this day and age of corporate meat processing.

If she really wants to do it, buy the meat whole, clean it and grind it yourself. You can buy grinders cheap.

11. That's just nasty
:bleh:

My meat has to be cooked thoroughly for me to eat it. My steak has to be well done... for I do not want to taste the blood of the animal I am eating and I do not want my meat mooing at me because it is still alive when I take a bite...

15. I was like that, too.
I'm a medium well man, now. Just the slightest touch of pink in the middle, not too much, not too little.

12. I used to eat it all the time
On rye bread with chopped onions and a good dose of salt.

I gave up all red meat a few years ago after watching a NOVA program on prion diseases, though.

Don't think I'd eat raw beef nowdays unless I'd inspected the cow myself before it was slaughtered.
