Sickened by the killing, torture, the destruction and the spiraling human and financial costs of this illegal and immoral war? Join UFPJ in Washington DC for three days of action to let Congress and the White House know: we're fed up and we will hold you accountable!
SAT., 9/24 - March on Washington to end the War on Iraq! SUN., 9/25 - Interfaith service, grassroots training MON., 9/26 - Lobby Day, non-violent direct action & civil disobedience
Buses will be going to Washington DC for the Semptember 24 Mobilization from Eau Claire, Madison and Milwaukee, $98 roundtrip, $25 deposit per ticket is required, balance due by 9/12, check/cash/credit card. Hopefully some scholarships are available.
BUS 1 - departs Friday, 9/23; arrives in DC for Saturday March and returns to Wisconsin on Sunday, 9/25; sleep on bus.
BUS 2 - departs Friday, 9/23, arrives in DC for all actions Saturday through Monday; low cost sleeping arrangements are being developed for Saturday and Sunday nights, Friday and Monday night sleeping on the bus.

I'll probably go by car if I go. But if you're going, it'd be great to hook up with you and the other Sconnies who are going.

13. If I remember correctly from previous events, it leaves Milwaukee... |
|
...late afternoon or early evening. I've never gone myself, but that's what I remember.
"Sconnies" is old-timey slang for Wisconsinites - I picked it up from an old boss of mine.
B-)

32. anyone know what to expect re: conditions on the bus.... |
|
I mean, can you really sleep on the bus? Can you sprawl or do you have to sit upright all night? Are they school busses or tour type busses which have reclining seats. Being 50 something I can't take no sleep like I used to! (3 or 4 hrs. is ok though)
I have a car but would want 1 or 2 others to help drive.
