Wall 8th in fundraising among non-incumbents
As much as money shouldn't be as big of a factor in politics as it is, it's reality right now. So the fact that Jamie Wall has the 8th biggest pot of cash on hand among all House challengers in the nation is pretty big news. Here's the list from CQ:

Ron Klein, Democrat, Florida’s 22nd District: $560,330
• Gus Bilirakis, Republican, Florida’s 9th District: $435,431
• Peter Roskam, Republican, Illinois’ 6th District: $369,675
• John Campbell, Republican, California’s 48th District: $270,395
• Baron P. Hill, Democrat, Indiana’s 9th District: $270,270*
• Rick O’Donnell, Republican, Colorado’s 7th District: $262,082
• Dean Heller, Republican, Nevada’s 2nd District: $246,760
• Jamie Wall, Democrat, Wisconsin’s 8th District: $243,589
• David McSweeney, Republican, Illinois’ 8th District: $228,993
• Juan Vargas, Democrat, California’s 51st District: $224,436

Just thought that was interesting. Now, the question is does that translate into votes.

1. Good,
He's going to need it....

I read last week that Green (running against Doyle) raised $250,000 + in the first quarter....

No matter what position you're running for, it seems like it's going to take a lot of $$$$$$$

Maybe we can get some DU help for Wall when things heat up?

2. Woohoo!
That's the kind of start on a war chest he's gonna need. I'm glad to see he's working hard to be a contender.

Money doesn't ever translate into votes. It's just a vehicle for getting Wall's message out. The success of the message is what translates. After having heard him at the convention, I'm not too worried about his message. My suspicion is Dave Obey is giving him a lot of advice and there's no one better.

3. I know money doesn't directly translate into votes

I worded that poorly. I meant that good fundraising, is, in this political climate, a necessary, but not sufficient, condition for winning. Unless your name is Paul Wellstone or Russ Feingold, but those are unique cases.
