Soooo...ya want some rain?
How 'bout a little wind, lightning and hail thrown in with it?

1. That front sort of split in half to go around Madison on both sides
They've been doing that the last couple years. Weird.

In any case, we got some gentle rain here in Madison today, but it looks like the worst of it went both North and South of us.

5. I've thought that...
...but have been told they aren't big enough to have a weather effect.

6. Just kidding - they always say that's why we don't get
tornados. But in fact we've had a few run right through Madison in my lifetime. It could possibly have some effect, but I'm no meterologist.

7. The outlying parts of the city have been hit a number of times
But I've only heard of one in the last 20 years or so that managed to line up and bowl down the Isthmus. Living on Willy street, I like to believe that.

:)

18. Do you recall any tornadoes IN Madison
...besides the one last June? I don't remember any (going way back), except for a few around the suburbs. None on the west side I am quite certain--that is, "Real" west-side Madison, which ends at about Odana Road ;)

2. Sounds like what went through here 20 minutes ago.
I was down in my pole shed & it sounded like someone was attacking it with ball peen hammers.

8. Same here in Central Wisconsin
Good timing to save some crops and 70-something degrees seems heavenly - even with the battleground noises in the background.

9. Yeah, the meteorologists
are always talking rain up here in my neck of the woods, but so far, nothing. We truly need it. Been watering my garden like crazy, but real from the heavens rain is truly needed.

10. my daughter just called
she's working at the race at State Fair Park today---they have evacuated the stands but not called the race due to threatening weather, mostly the lightening. All the folks working are gathered in one of the buildings. The tornado sirens went off about a half hour ago.

15. Much needed rain
we did manage to get .6 inches out of that storm yesterday and the good part was that it took about an hour or hour and a half to accumulate that much, even though the first 5 minutes of that storm was pure hell...

It was the first time I didn't have to water my tomatoes in a long time.

17. I'm happy to report
that we got rain last night! I have no idea how much, but we had a gentle, steady rain around 6, and then after midnight, the thunderstorms rolled in.

We haven't had rain since July 4. :)
