Gingrich pays visit to Wildwood Zoo
By Matt Ollwerther Marshfield News-Herald Newt Gingrich, former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives.
Newt Gingrich, Time Magazine's Man of the Year in 1995.
Newt Gingrich, zoo lover.
Gingrich took an hourlong, behind-the-scenes tour of Marshfield's Wildwood Zoo Sunday afternoon, tossing peanuts to sandhill cranes and entering the grizzly bear and mountain lion buildings for up-close views. The VIP appearance turned a few heads around the 60-acre facility as a small entourage followed the silver-haired man, who posed for pictures with a handful of zoogoers and officials.
Gingrich was in the Eau Claire area Saturday for a signing of his new book, "Never Call Retreat," the final installment of a trilogy of books on the Civil War. Gingrich co-authored the works with military historian William R. Forstchen.

No it all makes sense. Pass environmental laws to eliminate wild species so zoos will be the only place where creatures exist and Newt's zoos will be even more special.
