DO NOT LET STEVE "Dubya" HARPER IN THE BACK DOOR!
As your Prime Minister, I know I have made mistakes. I am sorry for them. But I ask of my countrymen, please do not let the Conservatives into power. We will become Texas Junior. :scared:
Please, vote strategically. Vote Liberal, Vote NDP, Vote the Bloc, Vote Green. Just vote to make sure that Steven Bush Harper does not win. We all lose if Harper wins.

-PM Paul Martin.

1. Please, don't vote strategically
unless you know wtf you're doing, which most people don't seem to.

3. in my riding the Liberal candidate actually has a chance of winning so
although I originally was going to vote NDP I ended up voting for the Liberal. The NDP candidate's numbers were so poor in my riding, that to vote for him would have been a "throw away" vote IMO. The polling numbers of the Conservative and the Liberal were neck and neck so "strategically" I felt my Liberal vote could make a difference.

4. That seems like good strategic voting to me
I had a similar decision, where the Lib+NDP vote last time handily would have defeated the Conservative. The Liberal candidate outpolled the NDP candidate in 2004, though not by a huge amount. I ended up voting for the Liberal this time, since I assumed that would be the logical thing to do in my riding. Had the NDP candidate been ahead of the Liberal in the 2004 campaign I would have went the other way.

It's not an easy decision, almost a variation on The Prisoner's Dilemma.

8. Depends
"The Liberal candidate outpolled the NDP candidate in 2004, though not by a huge amount."

This hasn't been a replay of 2004. Liberal support is down across the nation while the NDP is up. If the NDP were a close third last time, there's a good chance the NDP has passed the Liberal this time.

9. You could be right
It was hard deciding. My wife went with the NDP candidate, so even the two of us couldn't harmonize on our strategic vote. I am in Alberta (Edm Strathcona), so it may well be a moot point given Conservative dominance in the province (although my provincial riding has gone both NDP and Liberal).

6. Smart stragtegic voting on your behalf.
Congratualations! Certain people here in the US made the mistake of voting for Nader over Gore in 2000, and look what it got us.

7. Excuse me but that was not reason number 1 why Gore was denied in 2000!
Edited on Mon Jan-23-06 07:23 PM by Cascadian
Do not forget the chads, the number of people (of color!) that were denied from voting, Katherine Harris, and Bush's friends in the Supreme Court. There is plenty of blame to go around. I also blame Gore a little bit for not being strong enough as a candidate. He also should have emphasized the achievements of the Clinton administration and for God sakes, he never NEVER should have chosen Joe Lieberman as a running mate! It wasn't just Nader. BTW... I did vote for Gore.

10. Of course....
But had Nader's votes gone to Gore, the margin would have been to large to be stolen by Bushco.

2. Don't worry,
Harper won't use the back door on the basis that it wasn't God's plan.
