Here's an excellent CBC short documentary about Stephen Harper

Jillian Finlay, the journalist who does the documentary does a very good job. This is not a hatchet job. It is a record of the path he took to becoming Prime Minister. There are interviews with people who knew him and helped him along the way. Even an interview with Preston Manning. Watching it, I had my instinctive feeling that he is a control freak verified. He has to have things HIS WAY.

Watched it, my impression too.

I wondered whether this might serve us a little well, and my co-vivant was thinking the same. Maybe he won't be eager to toady up to the yanks, if only because he's a bit of a megalomaniac and not willing to play nothing but back-up. Was that what his little tantrum about sovereignty was about?

One can dream.
