I've had a peek once or twice in the past year or so and finally signed up. Looks like the closest thing we have to a DU.
I'd be interested to read about anyone else's impressions.

but get pulled back when things heat up politically at home. Since the heat will likely be on for a long time, I expect to spend a lot of time there.
Level of discourse on the political board is pretty high, and there are some very knowlegable contributors.

3. Most of them support the NDP |

There are more Conservative trolls (which rabble tries to ignore) than there are Federal Liberals.

I think part of DU's success is their forum--one of the best scripts and forums anywhere. In fact, the operators should just drop the 'demo' part and make a bundle running a service.
Rabble.ca is unfortunately is like a few, quite a mess. Unless folks paste what they are replying to, then following a thread there can be confusing.
The main topic is politics--so there is a lot of redundancy and few citations.

I find this forum to be one of the worst in terms of format. I would post here more often if it were a phpBB or Simple machines forum.

Whatever powers the Guardian's forums is nice as well...
Really I find the 'thread tree' here much better...but yeah it is unwieldly when responses pass the 100 mark...slow and chaotic.

and I really enjoy it. A lot of the discussion is waaay over my head (I'm not very smart <heee>), but I learn a great deal.

8. Thanks, everyone, for all of your comments. |

I wasn't impressed by the thread layout, either, but I suppose it's something I could get used to. At any rate, I'm sure they don't suffer having to implement many Level 5s.
Thanks again, everyone.
