CUPE Ottawa won't join wildcat strike
The local representing Ottawa-Carleton's 6,000 civic workers says it won't join any illegal walkout by the Canadian Union of Public Employees.

CUPE Local 503 president Jim Robillard has sent an open letter to his members saying their quarrel is with the provincial government, not with the city of Ottawa or its citizens.

CUPE Ontario President Sid Ryan is planning a provincewide wildcat when the Liberals introduce a bill affecting municipal workers' pensions for final reading.

Looks like it's heating up in Ontario...too bad members of the SAME union might have to cross a picket line.

Ottawa is now a city state...Robillard sounds like one of those really good union leaders like Darryl Bean
