If you wanna hear a lot of bragging about Cindy Klassen.....turn to NBC.
You got it, NBC. They have been repeatedly highlighting the fact that she has tied Eric Heiden for being the most decorated athlete - male or female - in any winter olympics. Ever. Heiden had five speed skating medals, all gold, in the 1980 games in Lake Placid. Klassen, with her five medals in Torino, has tied him. This is monumental. She is Canadian. This is totally awesome. And who's singing her praises the MOST?? NBC. CBC did give mention a few times earlier about her being the most decorated Canadian Olympian ever, which is true, which is awesome, and which must be shouted from every rooftop. But, don't stop there. NBC is aware of the international scope of what she's done, why hasn't CBC ballyhooed it?? Maybe they have and I've missed it, I dunno. Still, NBC was reciting her impressive resume DURING her race, while CBC was more interested in hearing Catriona Lemay-Doan (God love her) discussing the technicalities of Cindy's race, whether she was dropping her arm, her shoulders, whether she was tieing up, etc. Maybe this is because NBC tape delays EVERYTHING, and packages EVERYTHING for maximum tear-jerk effect, I dunno. Still.....CBC.....GET WITH IT!!!!:bounce:

1. CBC Newsworld finally got wise to Klassen's Olympic record.
I just heard it on Newsworld, but CBC's main network hasn't found out about it yet apparently. They have slipped in their Olympic coverage this time. They were always so good before, but this time I noticed a change. Maybe they have their sports dept. under someone new or something.

2. Thank You...
for the insight...I have seen the Canadian news chirping away on her 'the best Canadian Olympic ever', but YEAH, I was thinking...shit 5 medals puts here in another category entirely...

Quite an accomplishment and rather sad that the broadcasters here aren't chirping--one of the best BEST EVER in the modern games

Off Topic...but what the hell is Bandy and how good are the Canadian teams--apparantly this 'ice hockey with a ball' might be a sport in the 2010 Olys??

Hopefully Quinn won't be coaching...mind you, the way his career is going, he might ONLY be coaching bandy...heh

3. That's funny because Radio-Canada has been
talking of little else than Cindy Klassen. Saying she's the queen of the games and all.
