Aren't We Glad To Be Canadian

Flaherty talks tax cuts on eve of budget
Canadian Press

Whitby, Ont. — Many Canadians face an "excessive" tax burden that often exceeds half their income, Finance Minister Jim Flaherty said Monday on the eve of presenting the Conservative government's first budget, which he suggested will cut taxes and government spending.

"Canadians pay too much tax," Mr. Flaherty said after meeting with students in Grades 4 to 7 at Sir William Stephenson public school in his Whitby-Ajax riding, east of Toronto.

"At the end of the budget, I hope that people will say . . . 'I see where the Harper government is going, I see the plan of the government, and I also see that you're aware of the excessive tax burden on Canadians.' "

However, Mr. Flaherty said the budget would focus on the Conservatives' electoral priorities, not ideas from the other parties, including the GST cut, the day-care allowances, wait-time guarantees for patients and mandatory minimum sentences for some criminals.

Simple solution. Get rid of the "Shelia Tax". Now what party is going to pick up on that point?
Sadly, I expect none. Maybe has something to do with trade contracts?

1. Cutting wait times by cutting taxes.
What a fucking douchebag.

The "Common Sense Revolution" made a mess out of Ontario. It's mind-boggling that anyone thinks it should be tried elsewhere.

5. Oh but come on,
They smile and they are confident. They gotta know what they are doing right? :sarcasm:

The Common Sense Revolution, Charest's incredibly stupid and incompetent term and now this. You'd think we'd have learned something by now, but apparently we're idiots.

3. "Mandatory minimum sentences" in the budget?
I don't believe that will help me pay less in taxes.

6. Yeah, we're going to have a lot of fun fixing this moron's regime.
Especially after his majority term. If things keep going like this, they very well might win a majority next elections.

7. I was just watching Question Period and was once again struck by

something I have noticed since Harper first selected his ministers. So many of them have a self-satisfied, smug, all-knowing look on their faces. I'm thinking of, in particular, Stockwell Day, Rona Ambrose, Gordon O'Connor and John Baird. There are others. I'm not a violent person, but when I see them, I have such a terrible urge to punch them in the face. Know what I mean?
edit...Of course Harper is at the top of my list!

9. Day is such an ass
I was a reporter in his riding. A total dickwad, incapable of giving a sincere answer to even the most simple question.

Rona Ambrose... I yelled at her once, lil' bitch. She kept us waiting for 25 minutes for a press scrum while she was eating brunch. When she came down she only stayed about five minutes and when she left I yelled, "You made us wait for almost a god damn half hour, the least you could do is answer our questions!"

She made no eye contact, but her press secreatary looked afraid that I was going to kick his ass.

10. I can believe that of Ambrose...in Question P. she answers questions with
a bored attitude of "are you people so stupid you don't get it?" Stockwell Day I always remember arriving to talk to reporters in B.C. in his wet suit on the water scooter. What a jerk!
